Psikologi sastra menjadi pendekatan yang paling tepat untuk penelitian terhadap novel Everyone Has Lies. Ada dua belas tokoh dalam novel tersebut yang sangat menonjol personanya. Sesuai dengan teori milik C. G. Jung, maka penelitian ini berfokus pada tiga permasalahan, antara lain persona tokoh, terbentuknya persona tokoh, dan dampak persona tokoh. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mendeskripsikan ketiga permasalahan tersebut. Penelitian ini diharapkan sebagai sebuah kebaruan terhadap novel karya Coonant yang belum banyak menjadi objek penelitian. Selain berfokus pada teori persona milik C. G. Jung, terdapat pembahasan pendukung terkait psikologi sastra dan ketidaksadaran kolektif. Penelitian kualitatif dengan studi pustaka ini menunjukkan persona kedua belas tokoh secara jelas bersama penyebab terbentuknya persona tersebut, juga dampaknya terhadap diri mereka masing-masing. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa kedua belas tokoh memiliki persona yang berbeda-beda, sehingga dampaknya terhadap diri mereka masing-masing pun beragam. Penyebab terbentuknya persona-persona tersebut banyak disebabkan oleh lingkungan keluarga yang tidak harmonis. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa di luar sana banyak individu yang sebenarnya tidak baik-baik saja, terutama karena kondisi keluarga mereka yang toksik. Mereka lantas menyembunyikan diri yang tidak baik-baik saja itu di balik persona, tetapi persona  mereka tak selalu memberikan dampak baik bagi diri masing-masing.

Literary psychology is the most appropriate approach for research on the novel Everyone Has Lies. There are twelve characters in the novel whose personality is very prominent. In accordance with C. G. Jung's theory, this study focuses on three problems, including the character's persona, the formation of the character's persona, and the impact of the character's persona. The purpose of this study is to describe the three problems. This research is expected as a novelty to Coonant's novel which has not been the object of much research. Apart from focusing on C. G. Jung's theory of the persona, there is a supporting discussion of the psychology of literature and the collective unconscious. This qualitative research with literature study shows the personality of the twelve characters clearly along with the causes of the formation of these personas, as well as the impact on each of them. The results of this study indicate that the twelve characters have different personas, so that their impact on each of them varies. The cause of the formation of these personas is caused by a family environment that is not harmonious. Thus it can be concluded that there are many individuals out there who are actually not doing well, mainly because of their toxic family condition. They then hide themselves who are not okay behind their personas, but their personas do not always have a good impact on each other.
