PENGEMBANGAN DESAIN BATIK MOTIF SURYA MAJAPAHIT DI RUMAH BATIK SEKAR ARUM MOJOKERTO

SURYA MAJAPAHIT MOTIF BATIK DESIGN DEVELOPMENT AT SEKAR ARUM BATIK HOUSE MOJOKERTO

Rumah batik Sekar Arum merupakan salah satu tempat usaha di Mojokerto yang bergerak di bidang industri batik, Terletak di Jl Keboan, RT.3/RW.8 Mergelo, Gn. Gedangan, Kec Magersari Kota Mojokerto. Rumah batik Sekar Arum selain memproduksi batik dengan motif Surya Majapahit juga memproduksi motif Pring Sedapur, Surya Matahari, motif Kenanga, Sekar Jagad, serta motif Burung Gelatik. Berdasarkan observasi, didapati bahwa motif Surya Majapahit yang diproduksi masih belum mengalami pengembangan. Karenanya peneliti terdorong untuk mengembangkan motif Surya Majapahit dengan struktur yang baru.

Tujuan penelitian yaitu untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan desain batik motif Surya Majapahit, proses pengembangan motif Surya Majapahit, dan penerapan hasil pengembangan motif Surya Majapahit. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui teknik observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Reseach and Development (RnD). Proses pengembangan dilakukan pada bentuk motif Surya Majapahit dan Daun Maja. Selanjutnya motif utama dikombinasikan dengan motif tambahan berupa motif onde-onde, buah kecipir, bambu, serta cecek pada motif isen. Selanjutnya diaplikasikan pada kemeja pria dewasa dan pada baju wanita dewasa. Motif yang dikembangkan yaitu motif Surya Majapahit dengan rancangan desain mockup baju berjumlah 7 desain.

Penelitian ini menghasilkan 4 produk berupa 2 kemeja pria dewasa dan 2 baju wanita dewasa. Perwujudan desain menggunakan teknik batik tulis menggunakan warna remasol dengan teknik colet. Pada perwujudannya, ada sedikit perbedaan dengan desain yaitu pada bagian warna agak pudar dan cantingan motif kurang rapi. Namun demikian, hasil pengembangan ini dapat memberikan nuansa baru dalam pengembangan motif Surya Majapahit dan dapat diproduksi maupun dikembangkan lebih lanjut.

The Sekar Arum batik house is one of the business places in Mojokerto which is engaged in the batik industry. Located on Jl Keboan, RT.3/RW.8 Mergelo, Mt. Gedangan, Magersari sub-district, Mojokerto City, home of Sekar Arum batik besides producing batik with the Surya Majapahit motif, it also produces Pring Sedapur, Surya Matahari, Kenanga, Sekar Jagad, and Wren motifs. Based on observations, it was found that the Surya Majapahit motif that was produced had not yet developed. Therefore researchers are motivated to develop the Surya Majapahit motif with a new structure.

The aim of this research is to find out and describe the design of the Surya Majapahit batik motif, the process of developing the Surya Majapahit motif, and the application of the results of developing the Surya Majapahit motif.Data collection is done through observation techniques, interviews, and documentation. This research uses the methodReseach and Development (RnD). The development process is carried out in the form of the Surya Majapahit and Maja Leaf motifs. Furthermore, the main motif is combined with additional motifs in the form of onde-onde, winged bean, bamboo, and other motifsappropriate on motivesthe ice. Then applied to adult men's shirts and adult women's clothes. The motif developed is the Surya Majapahit motif with design designsmockup clothes totaling 7 designs.

This research produced 4 products in the form of 2 adult men's shirts and 2 adult women's shirts. The embodiment of the design uses the written batik technique using remasol colors with the dab technique. In its embodiment, there is a slight difference with the design, namely the colors are a bit faded and the printed motifs are not neat. However, the results of this development can provide new nuances in the development of the Surya Majapahit motif and can be produced or developed further.
