Analysis of Tjiplies Silk Painting Techniques

Abstrak

Kreativitas seniman dalam karya seni adalah kemampuan daya cipta mewujudkan karya seni yang sudah ada dan dikembangkan menjadi suatu kreasi yang baru. Proses berpikir kreatif seniman merupakan proses lahirnya ide-ide baru dalam karya seni. Ungkapan ide-ide kreatif seniman yang terus berkembang sesuai dengan perkembangan zaman dan budaya. Penelitian ini dilakukan sebagai upaya untuk mengetahui proses kreatif seorang seniman secara spesifik dibahas dalam bentuk 1)Proses berkarya 2)Teknik lukis sutra karya Tjiplies 3)Hasil teknik lukis. Hal tersebut didasari karena Tjiplies sebagai seniman asal Surabaya memiliki sebuah inovasi dari proses berkarya yang dilakukan setelah menggambar pola dan memberikan pewarnaan, cat yang masih basah tersebut diberi taburan garam sehingga menghasilkan corak yang menyebar. Adapun tujuan dari penelitian adalah mendeskripsikan proses berkarya Tjiplies dalam melukis kain sutra, mendeskripsikikan teknik yang digunakan dalam melukis kain sutra dan mendeskripsikan hasil lukis kain sutra karya Tjiplies. Metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif dengan menggunakan teknik pengumpulan data observasi dan wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang dilakukan menggunakan tiga tahap, reduksi data, penyajian data, dan verifikasi data. Adapun hasil dari penelitian, yang pertama proses berkarya dalam melukis kain dilakukan sebanyak enam proses. Kedua yakni teknik lukis sutra yang dihasilkan oleh Tjiplies pun cukup banyak, hal tersebut menunjukkan ciri khas tersendiri yang dimilikinya. Teknik tersebut seperti teknik spontan,teknik aquarel, teknik opaque, teknik gutha, teknik basah di atas kering, teknik basah di atas basah, dan teknik kering. Teknik-teknik tersebut menunjukkan konsistensi Tjiplies dalam berkarya dengan menggunakan beberapa teknik.

Abstract

The creativity of artists in works of art is the ability of creativity to realize existing works of art and develop them into new creations. The creative thought process of artists is the process of giving birth to new ideas in works of art. Expression of creative ideas from artists that evolve according to time and culture. This research was done to find out the creative process of an artist specifically discussed in terms of 1) the working process 2) the silk painting technique of Tjiplies 3) the results of the painting technique. This is due to the fact that as an artist from Surabaya, Tjiplies has an innovation from the working process that is done after drawing patterns and dyeing, the wet paint is sprinkled with salt to create a diffuse pattern. The purpose of this study is to describe the process of Tjiplies 'work in painting silk fabrics, describe the techniques used in painting silk fabrics, and describe the results of Tjiplies' silk painting. The data collection method used is a descriptive qualitative method that uses observational and interview data collection techniques. The data analysis technique was carried out in three stages, data reduction, data presentation and data verification. As for the results of the research, the first process of processing painting cloth is carried out up to six processes. The second is that there are quite a number of silk painting techniques made by Tjiplies, this shows its own characteristics. The techniques are spontaneous technique, aquarel technique, opaque technique, guthate technique, wet-on-dry technique, wet-on-wet technique and dry technique. These techniques show the consistency of Tjiplies in his work with different techniques. The third relates to the silk fabric paintings made by Tjiplies that are widely exhibited and there are several new products in the middle of this pandemic, namely in the form of painted masks to make the presentation more varied and attractive.
