This study is based on factors that can
influence students' academic achievement, such as learning motivation and
organizational activity. A motivation that is defined as encouragement of each
individual to achieve the desired goals is considered to have a significant
influence on the learning process. Moreover, organizational activity is also
often considered to have an influence on the learning process, which will have
an impact on academic achievement if it is balanced with good time management
by the students.
Therefore, this study aims to: (1)
Examine whether there is an influence of learning motivation on academic
achievement of students in Education Management Department Faculty of Science
Education Surabaya State University , (2) Examine whether there is an
influence of organizational activity on academic achievement of students in n
Education Management Department Faculty of Science Education Surabaya
State University ,
(3) Examine there is an influence of learning motivation and organizational
activity on academic achievement of students in Education Management Department
Faculty of Science Education Surabaya State
University .
In achieving the aims above, this study
used a quantitative approach with a comparative causal method. The population
was 160 students from 2018 to 2019 of Education Management Department Faculty
of Science Education Surabaya State University . Furthermore, the
sampling was conducted using the random sampling technique until obtaining a
total sample of 113 students. The testing for the feasibility of research used
validity test and reliability test. Moreover, the data analysis technique in
hypothesis testing used multiple linear regression analysis with t-test and
f-test.
According to the results of data
presentation and processing assisted with SPSS, the conclusions are: (1) There
is no significant and positive influence of learning motivation on academic
achievement of students in the Education Management Department Faculty of
Science Education Surabaya State University with a Sig value of
0.082 > 0.05, (2) There is no significant and positive influence of
organizational activity on academic achievement of students in Education
Management Department Faculty of Science Education Surabaya
State University
with a Sig value of 0.886 > 0.05, (3) There is no significant and positive
influence of learning motivation and organizational activity on academic
achievement of students in Education Management Department Faculty of Science
Education Surabaya State University , and this only contributed 3.1%, which
means that there are other 96.9% factors outside the focus of this study.
