permasalahan yang terjadi pada pembelajaran sejarah yang diterapkan di sekolah belum mampu terlaksana dengan semestinya. pembelajran yang dilaksanakan dirasa kurang membawa pengaruh positif terhadap kemampuan peserta didik khususnya ketreampilan menulis sejarah. hal ini disebabkan oleh gaya mengajar yang diterapkan masih bersifat konvensional dan tingkat berfikir kritis serta kreatif peserta didik masih pada tingkat rendah sehingga diperlukan sebuah treatment untuk mengubah gaya belajar yang berpengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis sejarah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Inquiry. rumusan masalah pada penelitian ini adalah apakah ada pengaruh antara Group Investigation berbasis Inquiry terhadap keterampilan menulis sejarah dan memiliki tujuan untuk mengetahui adanya pengaruh dan berapa besar kontribusi variabel X (Group Investigation berbasis Inquiry) terhadap variabel Y (Keterampilan menulis sejarah) pada kelas XI IPS di MAN 1 Gresik. jenis penelitian yakni penelitian kuantitatif experimental dengan tipe One Shot Case Study Design, perhitungan sampel menggunakan rumus Taro Yaname and Slovin dengan jumlah responden 51 peserta didik pada kelas XI IPS di MAN 1 Gresik. instrumen yang digunakan yaitu angket respon peserta didik, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran serta lembar penilaian keterampilan menulis sejarah siswa. teknik analisis data menggunakan uji One Sample T-test dengan hasil penelitian Thitung 5,174 > Ttabel 2,00856 dengan signifikansi 0,003 < 0,005. hasil uji tersebut menjelaskan bahwa penggunaan model pembelajaran Group Investigation berbasis Inquiry memberikan pengaruh positif terhadap keterampilan menulis sejarah siswa kelas XI IPS di MAN 1 Gresik

the problem that occur in history learning that are applied in schools have not been able to be carried out properly. the learning carried out is deemed to have less positive influence on the ability of studenst, especially history writing skills. this is because the teaching style applied is still conventional and the critical and creative thinking level of students is still at a low level, so a treatment is needed to change the learning style that affects history writing skills by applying the Inquiry-based Group Investigation learning model. the formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an influence between Inquiry-based Group Investigation on historical writing skills and the aim is to find out the influence and how much contribution X variable (Inquiry-based Group Investogation) has on Y variable (historical writing skills) in class XI Social Studies in MAN 1 Gresik. the type of research is experimental quantitative research ith the type of One-Shot Case Study Design, the sample calculation use the Taro Yaname and Slovin formula with the number of respondents being 51 students in class XI IPS at MAN 1 Gresik. the instruments used were student response questionnaires, observation of the implementation of learning and assesment sheets for students history writing skills. the data analysis technique used One Sample T-test. the result of the research written as Thitung 5,174 > Ttabel 2,00856 with a significance of 0,003 < 0,005. learning inquiry based Group Investigation model has a postive influence in writing skill of history of students in class XI IPS MAN 1 Gresik
