ANALYSIS OF SAFETY RAILING IRON CORROSION PROCESS ON SCH 40 IRON PIPE MATERIALS
Pada saat Analisa proses korosi besi safetyrailling yang bertempat di PDAM Karangpilang Surabaya, mengalami korosi saat ketika terkena zat kimia atau air kimia pada waktu penjernihan air. Tujuan pada penelitian ini untuk mengetahui adanya perbandingan pengaruh lama waktu proses laju korosi pada zat pelapis/coating dengan produk pasaran lainnya serta diterapkan pada material pipa besi Sch.40 jika telah diberikan air tawas dan klorin kadar tinggi dan proses kehilangan berat massa pada material pipa baja steel Sch.40.
Pada penelitian ini menggunakan 2 metode penelitian yaitu metode perendaman dan Coating Thickness Gauge dengan pipa besi ASTM A53/A530 Sch.40 sebagai obyek penelitian.
Data hasil penelitian ini dianalisa secara deskriptif untuk mengetahui nilai hilangnya berat besi yang sudah lapisan cat dengan direndam selama 3 hari dan 6 hari, spesimen tersebut mengalami korosi yang cukup signifikan karena media air kimia tersebut, maka hilangnya berat (weight loss) dari 118,8209 gram sebelum direndam jika sudah direndam menjadi 117,0216 gram dan melakukan uji Thickness Gauge dengan menggunakan alat Dry Film Thickness (DFT) dari 3 titik yaitu 0,30 mm ; 0,29 mm ; 0,33 mm menjadi 0,29 mm ; 0,28 mm ; 0,30 mm berkurangnya ketebalan pelapisan pipa besi ASTM A53/A530 Sch.40 sebanyak 0,01 mm sampai 0,03 mm akan terus bertambah secara signifikan.

At the time of analysis of the safetyrailling iron corrosion process located in PDAM Karangpilang Surabaya, experiencing corrosion moment when exposed to chemical substances or chemical water at times water purification. The purpose of this research is to find out there is a comparison of the effect of the length of time the process of corrosion rate on coating/coating agents with other market products as well applied to the Sch.40 iron pipe material if it has been given water alum and high levels of chlorine and mass loss process on Sch.40 steel pipe material.
In this study using 2 research methods namely the immersion method and Coating Thickness Gauge with steel pipe ASTM A53/A530 Sch.40 as research object.
Data from this study were analyzed descriptively for find out the weight loss value of iron that has been painted by soaking for 3 days and 6 days, the specimens experienced significant corrosion due to chemical water media these, then the loss of weight (weight loss) of 118.8209 grams before soaking if it has been soaked to 117.0216 grams and perform a Thickness Gauge test using the Dry tool Film Thickness (DFT) from 3 points, namely 0.30 mm ; 0.29mm ; 0.33mm to 0.29 mm ; 0.28mm ; 0.30 mm reduced thickness ASTM A53/A530 Sch.40 iron pipe coating of 0.01 mm up to 0.03 mm will continue to increase significantly.
