The movie Kukira Kau Rumah narrates the tale of a girl with
a mental condition, which includes internal struggles that the character
Niskala faces in relation to other characters. Given that it is the most
watched movie and that the individuals in it go through psychological experiences,
Umay Shahab's Kukira Kau Rumah is an intriguing film to analyse. Second,
the film emphasises the internal strife of the character Niskala. Based on
Sigmund Freud's theory, this study aims to explain the inner conflict and its
reasons that the main character, Niskala, in Umay Shahab's film "Kukira Kau Rumah" experiences.
Based on Sigmund Freud's psychoanalytic theory specifically, the formation
of the id, ego, and superego, this
study employs a literary psychology method. The study's data source is the Umay
Shahab directed movie Kukira Kau Rumah.
Character dialogue texts serve as the data source. The listening and
note-taking method is used in this study's data analysis to turn the movie into
text. Niskala is the primary female figure under discussion. Niskala's internal
conflicts include dread, worry, doubt, low self-esteem, and extreme
disappointment. The study's findings are explained as follows (1). Among the
internal struggles that the character Niskala faces are loneliness, restricted
happiness, parental restraint, and bipolar disorder (2). Repression and
diversion are the means by which the film's protagonist resolves his internal
conflict.
