EXISTENCY OF FEMALE CHARACTERS IN THE NOVEL PRASETYANE WANITA BY TULUS SETIYADI

Akibat perkembangan jaman yang semakin modern, menjadikan kedudukan wanita tergeser dan tidak seperti dulu lagi. Jiwa perempuan tergugah untuk bisa lebih eksis dan mandiri dikalangan laki-laki, namun hal itu tidak menjadikan wanita menjadi merendahkan laki-laki. Wanita yang memiliki sifat seperti itu merupakan bentuk dari eksistensi tokoh wanita. Sehingga pada artikel ini akan membahas tentang eksistensi tokoh wanita dalam novel yang berjudul Prasetyane Wanita karya Tulus Setiyadi. Berdasarkan pembahasan tersebut artikel ini memiliki tiga rumusan masalah yaitu (1) Bagaimana gambaran eksistensi wanita Jawa sebagai anak dalam novel Prasetyane Wanita karya Tulus Setiyadi, (2) Bagaimana gambaran eksistensi wanita Jawa sebagai istri dalam novel Prasetyane Wanita karya Tulus Setiyadi, dan (3) Bagaimana gambaran eksistensi wanita Jawa sebagai ibu rumah tangga dalam novel Prasetyane Wanita karya Tulus Setiyadi. Novel yang berjudul Prasetyane Wanita ini bakal dikupas menggunakan teori feminisme. Metode yang digunakan yaitu metode deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil dari artikel ini yaitu menunjukkan eksistensi tokoh wanita dalam novel Prasetyane Wanita, ada tiga aspek yaitu (1) eksistensi wanita sebagai anak yaitu  berbakti, perhatian, juga bisa menjaga keluarga, (2) eksistensi wanita sebagai istri yaitu membantu  ekonomi, sabar dan setia, (3) eksistensi perempuan sebagai ibu rumah tangga yaitu, merawat anak, mengurus rumah, memasak dan yang lainnya.

Due to the development of an increasingly modern era, the position of women is displaced and is not what it used to be. Women's souls are moved to be more existent and independent among men, but this does not make women look down on men. Women who have such traits are a form of the existence of female characters. So this article will discuss the existence of a female character in the novel entitled Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi. Based on this discussion, this article has three problem formulations, namely (1) How to describe the existence of Javanese women as children in Tulus Setiyadi's Prasetyane Wanita novel, (2) How to describe the existence of Javanese women as wives in the novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi, and (3) How to describe the existence of Javanese women as housewives in the novel Prasetyane Wanita by Tulus Setiyadi. The novel, entitled Prasetyane Wanita, will be explored using the theory of feminism. The method used is descriptive qualitative method. The results of this article show the existence of female characters in the Prasetyane Wanita novel, there are three aspects, namely (1) the existence of women as children, namely filial piety, attention, and being able to maintain the family, (2) the existence of women as wives, namely helping the economy, being patient and loyal, (3) the existence of women as housewives, namely, caring for children, taking care of the house, cooking and others.
