Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi pentingnya meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan pada anak autis yang mengalami hambatan dalam bidang kognitif. Hal ini terlihat pada kemampuan pada anak autis di lokasi penelitian yaitu TK Mentari School Sidoarjo, dalam berhitung anak hanya mampu menyebutkan 1-10 anak tidak mengerti mana angka 1, angka 2, angka 3 sampai 10 sehingga masih perlu ditingkatkan. Melalui busy book mathematics anak autis dirangsang secara aktif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan dengan menyebutkan angka bila diperlihatkan lambang bilangannya, menunjukkan angka bila diperlihatkan lambang bilangannya, mencocokkan jumlah benda (buah apel) dengan angka 1-10.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan busy book mathematics terhadap kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan pada anak autis di TK Mentari School Sidoarjo. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif, dengan jenis pre-eksperimen disign, dan rancangan penelitian one grup pre-test post-test design. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah anak autis berjumlah 7 anak yang kemampuan mengenal lambang bilanganya masih perlu dikembangkan. Teknik analisis data dengan menggunakan statistik non parametrik dengan uji peringkat bertanda wilcoxon.
Hasil peneltian ini menujukkan bahwa adannya peningkatan nilai kemampuan mengenal lambang bilangan anak autis pada saat tes awal (pre-test) 29,74 dan 71,41 pada tes akhir (post-test). Selain itu hasil penelitian juga menunjukkan hasil T (jenjang terkecil) = 0 lebih kecil dibandingkan nilai dari Tα (tabel) =2 dengan nilai kritis 5% (untuk pengujian dua sisi/pihak). Maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima apabila lebih kecil dari α (tabel). Hal ini berarti penggunaan busy book mathematics dapat diterapkan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan mengenal.

This research was set background by the importance of increasing the ability of recognizing number symbol to autism children who had hindrance in cognitive domain. This thing was viewed to the ability of autism children in research location i.e. TK Mentari School Sidoarjo. In counting, the children could only mention 1-10. They did not understand which number 1, number 2, number 3 till 10 were so their ability still required to be enhanced. Through the busy book mathematics, the autism children were stimulated actively to enhance the ability of recognizing number symbol by mentioning the number when being showed the number symbol, to show the number when being showed the number symbol, to match the thing amount (apple) with number 1-10.
This research had purpose to know the influence of busy book mathematics toward the ability of recognizing number symbol to autism children in TK Mentari School Sidoarjo. This research used quantitative approach with pre-experiment design, and the research arrangement was one group pre-test post-test design. The subject in this research was autism children numbering 7 children whose ability of recognizing number symbol still required to be developed. The technique of data analysis used statistic non parametric with Wilcoxon match pairs test.
This research result indicated that there was value enhancement of recognizing number symbol ability of autism children in the early test (pre-test) 29,74 and 71,41 in the last test (post-test). Beside that the research result also indicated that T result (the smallest level) = 0 was smaller than the value of Tα (table) = 2 with critic value 5% (for two sides test). So, it could be concluded that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. This meant that the usage of busy book mathematics could enhance the ability of recognizing number symbol.
