Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, keterlaksanaan sintaks model guided inquiry, dan respons peserta didik terhadap penerapan model guided inquiry pada materi tekanan zat cair. Desain penelitian menggunakan one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian ialah peserta didik kelas VIII-A MTs Negeri 2 Kota Surabaya sebanyak 32 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data terdiri dari tes keterampilan berpikir kritis, observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan angket respons peserta didik. Analisis data meliputi uji normalitas metode Shapiro Wilk, uji-t berpasangan, dan analisis N-Gain. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan terdapat peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik setelah diimplementasikan model guided inquiry dengan perolehan rata-rata skor N-Gain sebesar 0,72 berkategori tinggi, keterlaksanaan sintaks model guided inquiry terlaksana sangat baik, dan implementasi model guided inquiry mendapatkan respons positif dari peserta didik dengan hasil respons setiap indikator berkategori sangat setuju. Dengan demikian dapat disimpulkan bahwa implementasi model guided inquiry dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis peserta didik, sintaks pembelajaran terlaksana sangat baik, dan respons peserta didik sangat setuju terhadap implementasi model guided inquiry.

This study aims to describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills, the implementation of guided inquiry model syntax, and students' responses to the application of guided inquiry model on liquid pressure material. The research design used one group pretest-posttest. The research sample was students of class VIII-A MTs Negeri 2 Surabaya City as many as 32 students. Data collection techniques consisted of critical thinking skills tests, observations of learning implementation, and student response questionnaires. Data analysis included normality test of Shapiro Wilk method, paired t-test, and N-Gain analysis. The results showed that there was an increase in students' critical thinking skills after the implementation of the guided inquiry model with an average N-Gain score of 0.72 in the high category, the implementation of the syntax of the guided inquiry model was very well implemented, and the implementation of the guided inquiry model received a positive response from students with the results of the response of each indicator in the category of strongly agree. Thus it can be concluded that the implementation of the guided inquiry model can improve students' critical thinking skills, the learning syntax is very well implemented, and the students' responses strongly agree with the implementation of the guided inquiry model.
