PRAKTIK AGAMA DAN ETOS KERJA MAGANG MAHASISWA SOSIOLOGI UNESA ANGKATAN 2021 DI KOTA SURABAYA
RELIGIOUS PRACTICES AND WORK ETHIC OF 2021 UNESA SOCIOLOGY STUDENT INTERNSHIPS IN SURABAYA CITY
Penelitian ini mengkaji praktik agama terhadap etos kerja mahasiswa Sosiologi Universitas Negeri Surabaya (Unesa) angkatan 2021 yang menjalani magang di berbagai instansi pemerintahan Kota Surabaya. Manusia memiliki dua aspek mendasar, yaitu jasmani dan rohani, yang keduanya memerlukan pemenuhan melalui kerja dan agama. Sementara kebutuhan jasmani dipenuhi melalui pekerjaan, kebutuhan rohani dipenuhi melalui ajaran agama yang memberikan prinsip moral dan etika dalam kehidupan. Nilai-nilai agama, seperti kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, kejujuran, dan integritas, berfungsi sebagai pendorong etos kerja yang kuat dalam konteks pribadi dan professional. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik fenomenologi dalam sosial. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam dengan 15 mahasiswa magang di berbagai instansi pemerintahan Kota Surabaya. Analisis data dilakukan dengan horizonalisasi, deskripsi tekstural dan struktural, serta uraian makna fenomena. Keabsahan data dijamin melalui triangulasi sumber dan member checking.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa agama memainkan peran penting dalam membentuk etos kerja, motivasi, dan adaptasi sosial mahasiswa di tempat magang. Praktik agama, seperti ibadah wajib dan sunnah, serta kegiatan amal, berkontribusi dalam meningkatkan kualitas kinerja dan hubungan sosial. Agama dipandang sebagai pedoman hidup yang memberikan arahan moral dan etika, membantu mahasiswa menjalani tugas magang dengan kedisiplinan, tanggung jawab, dan integritas. Implementasi nilai-nilai agama, seperti kesabaran dan ikhlas, berdampak positif pada motivasi dan semangat kerja, serta membantu mengurangi stres dan menghadapi tantangan di tempat magang.
This study examines religious practices on the work ethic of Sociology students of Surabaya State University (Unesa) class of 2021 who are undergoing internships in various government agencies of Surabaya City. Humans have two basic aspects, namely physical and spiritual, both of which require fulfillment through work and religion. While physical needs are met through work, spiritual needs are met through religious teachings that provide moral and ethical principles in life. Religious values, such as discipline, responsibility, honesty, and integrity, serve as strong drivers of work ethic in personal and professional contexts. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with phenomenological techniques in social. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with 15 interns in various government agencies of Surabaya City. Data analysis was carried out by horizontalization, textural and structural descriptions, and descriptions of the meaning of phenomena. The validity of the data was guaranteed through source triangulation and member checking.
The results of the study indicate that religion plays an important role in shaping students' work ethic, motivation, and social adaptation in the internship. Religious practices, such as obligatory and sunnah worship, and charity activities, contribute to improving the quality of performance and social relationships. Religion is seen as a guideline for life that provides moral and ethical direction, helping students carry out internship tasks with discipline, responsibility, and integrity. The implementation of religious values, such as patience and sincerity, has a positive impact on motivation and work spirit, and helps reduce stress and face challenges in the internship.
