PERBEDAAN KETEBALAN KAIN DENIM TERHADAP HASIL JADI HAND QUILTING SASHIKO PADA COAT

THE DIFFERENCE OF DENIM FABRIC THICKNESS TOWARDS THE RESULT OF HAND QUILTING SASHIKO ON THE COAT

ABSTRAK— Hand Quilting Sashiko adalah proses menggabungkan kain lapisan atas (facing), busa angin (batting) dan kain lapisan bawah (backing) dengan tusuk jelujur menggunakan benang berwarna putih yang diaplikasikan di atas kain berwarna indigo. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah (1) mengetahui perbedaan ketebalan kain denim terhadap hasil jadi hand quilting sashiko pada coat (2) mengetahui hasil jadi hand quilting sashiko pada coat yang terbaik. Metode penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah metode penelitian kuantitatif. Jenis penelitian dalam penelitian ini adalah penelitian komparatif. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan kuisioner melalui google form dengan mengamati design dan foto hasil jadi produk keseluruhan yang dilakukan oleh 30 observer yaitu 5 dosen program studi Tata Busana dan 25 mahasiswa program studi Tata Busana. Teknik analisis data menggunakan uji T dengan bantuan computer program SPSS 25. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa (1) ada perbedaan yang signifikan hasil jadi hand quilting sashiko pada coat antara ketebalan kain denim tipis sedang (0,51mm) dan kain denim sedang (1,16mm) yang ditinjau dari aspek efek timbul dan aspek jahitan, tetapi tidak ada perbedaan yang signifikan hasil jadi hand quilting sashiko pada coat antara ketebalan kain denim tipis sedang (0,51mm) dan kain denim sedang (1,16mm) yang ditinjau dari aspek bentuk motif (2) hasil jadi hand quilting sashiko pada coat yang terbaik antara ketebalan kain denim tipis sedang (0,51mm) dan kain denim sedang (1,16mm) yang ditinjau dari berbagai aspek yaitu aspek efek timbul, aspek bentuk motif dan aspek jahitan adalah dengan menggunakan ketebalan kain denim tipis sedang (0,51mm).

ABSTRACT— Hand Quilting Sashiko is the process of combining a facing fabric, batting and a backing fabric with a baste using white yarn applied over an indigo colored fabric. The objectives of this research were (1) to determine the difference in the thickness of denim fabric to the finished result of hand quilting sashiko on the coat (2) to determine the result of the finished product of hand quilting sashiko on the best coat. The research method in this research is quantitative research method. The type of research in this research is comparative research. The data collection technique used a questionnaire through google form by observing the design and photos of the finished product as a whole carried out by 30 observers, namely 5 lecturers of the Fashion Design study program and 25 students of the Fashion Design study program. The data analysis technique used the T test with the help of the SPSS 25 computer program. Based on the result of the data analysis, it shows that (1) there is a significant difference in the finished result of hand quilting sashiko on the coat between the thickness of medium thin denim fabric (0.51mm) and medium denim fabric (1.16mm) in terms of embossed effect and stitching aspects, But there is no significant difference in the finished result of hand quilting sashiko on the coat between the thickness of the medium thin denim fabric (0.51mm) and medium denim fabric (1.16mm) in terms of motif shape aspects (2) the best result of the hand quilting sashiko on the coat between the thickness of medium thin denim fabric (0.51mm) and medium denim fabric (1.16mm) in terms of various aspects, namely embossed effect aspects, motif shape aspects and stitching aspects are using a medium thin denim fabric thickness (0.51mm).
