Abstract
Anak tunagrahita mengalami hambatan dalam berbahasa yaitu kemampuan membaca. Hal ini disebabkan karena pembelajaran yang kurang menarik, kurang memotivasi anak dan cenderung monoton. Maka dari itu diperlukan suatu pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan anak tersebut yaitu model Scramble. Model Scramble ini adalah suatu kegiatan bermain yang mengutamakan membentuk kata, dan adanya aktivitas membaca huruf, suku kata, kata dan kalimat. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk membuktikan penerapan model Scramble dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pada anak tunagrahita kelas IV di SLB Negeri 2 Lombok Tengah.
Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah Pre Eksprerimental dengan menggunakan “One Group Pretest – Posttest Design”. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah Wilcon Match Pairs Test, dengan jumlah subjek 6 anak tunagraita. Sehingga ditemukan hasil Zh 2,096 sedangkan Ztabel 1,96 artinya Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penerapan model Scramble dapat meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pada anak tungrahita di SLB Negeri 2 Lombok Tengah.

Mentally retardation children had hindrance in speech i.e. reading ability. This was caused by less interesting learning, less motivating to the children and being tend monotone Therefore, it was required a learning which was suitable with the children i.e. Scramble model. This Scramble model was a game activity which prioritized to form words, and there was activity of reading alphabets, syllables, words, and sentences. This research purpose was to prove that the application of Scramble model could enhance the reading ability to mentally retardation children class IV in SLB Negeri 2 Central Lombok.
The research kind used was pre-experimental by using “One Group Pretest – Posttest Design”. The technique of data analysis used in this research was Wilcoxon Match Pairs test with 6 subjects of mentally retardation. So, it was found the result Zh 2,096 while Z table was 1,96, it meant that Ho was refused and Ha was accepted. It could be concluded that the application of Scramble model could enhance the reading ability to mentally retardation children in SLB Negeri 2 central Lombok.
