Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis model pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan oleh KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar melalui nasihat-nasihat yang diberikan ini mampu mengubah perilaku santri di pondok pesantren Darul Mustaghitsin Lamongan. Dengan adanya sebuah nasihat yang diberikan, mampu membina perilaku santri, yang sebelumnya kurang terdidik, menjadi santri yang terdidik dan berkarakater. Dasar dari sentuhan nasihat yang diberikan oleh Kh. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar ini, sebagaimana yang dicontohkan pada aliran behavioristic yang diungkapkan Watson perihal stimulus dan respon (S-R Psychology).
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Deskriptif sendiri, mengungkapkan faktualitas dari kajian maupun masalah yang diteliti. Disini peneliti melakukan penelitian secara langsung dimana peneliti terjun langsung ke lapangan. Dengan cara mengumpulkan data melalui observasi pesantren, wawancara kiai, orang-orang terdekat, pengurus, dewan asatidz, keluarga pesantren maupun santri.
Pengamatan terhadap model pendidikan karakter yang dilakukan oleh KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar sebagai upaya pembinaan perilaku sosial santri di pesantren Darul Mustaghitsin Lamongan ini memiliki tujuan untuk membentuk karakter santri. Diantara model yang dilakukan KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar adalah seperti 1). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang nilai-nilai Religius, 2). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang nilai-nilai kejujuran, 3). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang nilai-nilai toleransi, 4). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang nilai-nilai kedisiplinan, 5). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang kerja keras, 6). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang kreatif, 7). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tentang mandiri, 8). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar demokratis, 9). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar rasa ingin tahu dan 10). Pendidikan karakter KH. Mas’ud Al-Mudjenar tanggung jawab. Keseluruhannya diinternalisasikan melalui pengajaran badongan, madrasah diniyah, kegiatan kolekktif santri dan kegiatan ekstrakulikuler santri.

This study aims to analyze the character education model conducted by KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar through the advice given was able to change the behavior of students at the Darul Mustaghisin Islamic boarding school Lamongan. With the advice given, they are able to foster the behavior of students, who were previously less educated, become students who are educated and have character. The basis of the touch of advice given by Kh. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar, as exemplified in the behavioristic flow that was expressed by Watson regarding stimulus and response (S-R Psychology).
This study uses a qualitative research approach with a descriptive design. Descriptive itself, revealing the factuality of the study and the problem under study. Here the researcher conducts research directly where the researcher goes directly to the field. By collecting data through observations of pesantren, interviews with kiai, people closest to them, administrators, asatidz councils, pesantren families and students.
Observations of the character education model conducted by KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar as an effort to foster social behavior of students at the Darul Mustaghisin Islamic boarding school Lamongan has a goal to shape the character of students. Among the models carried out by KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar is like 1). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on Religious values, 2). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on the values of honesty, 3). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on the values of tolerance, 4). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on the values of discipline, 5). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar about hard work, 6). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on creative, 7). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar on independence, 8). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar democratic, 9). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar curiosity and 10). Character education KH. Mas'ud Al-Mudjenar responsibility. The whole thing is internalized through the teaching of badongan, madrasah diniyah, collective activities of students and extracurricular activities of students.
