Stylization Of The Hornbills Using Surface Cording Technique in Bridal Attire

Tujuan penelitian ini ialah untuk mendeskripsikan proses penerapan stilasi burung enggang menggunakan teknik lekapan sengkelit pada gaun pengantin serta untuk mendeskripsikan hasil jadi penerapan stilasi burung enggang menggunakan teknik lekapan sengkelit pada gaun pengantin. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian  ini adalah metode Double Diamond Design Process, yang terdiri dari 4 tahap, yaitu  discover, define, develope, dan deliver. Dari hasil yang diperoleh, proses pembuatan lekapan dibuat menggunakan teknik sengkelit dengan motif burung enggang yang telah distilasi dari bentuk aslinya. Teknik sengkelit dibuat menggunakan kain serong yang dijahit kemudian dibalik hingga membentuk pipa dengan diameret 0,5 cm dengan kampuh sebagai isiannya.  Hasil jadi pada gaun pengantin sesuai dengan konsep perancangan antara lain menggunakan siluet I, penerapan hiasan lekapan sengkelit motif stilasi Burung Enggang sebagai point of interest pada busana pengantin.

The purpose of this study is to describe how the process of applying hornbill styling using the technique of attachment surface cording on wedding dresses. As well as to describe the result of the application of hornbill styling using the technique of attachment to the wedding dress. The method used in this research is the Double Diamond Design Process method, which consists of 4 stages, namely discover, define, develop, and deliver. From the results obtained, the fixture manufacturing process is made using the surface cording technique with hornbill motifs that have been distilled from their original shape. The surface cording technique is made using oblique fabric that is sewn and then inverted to form a pipe with a diameter of 0.5 cm with seam as the filling. The result on the wedding dress is in accordance with the concept of planning, among others, using silhouette I, the application of decorative fixtures with the Hornbill style motif as a point of interest on the wedding dress
