Institusi pendidikan kejuruan secara subtansi dimaksudkan untuk menghasilkan siswa yang memiliki kemampuan khusus dan siap untuk bekerja. Namun, faktanya lulusan SMK menduduki peringkat pertama dalam jumlah pengguran selama tiga tahun berturut-turut, kondisi tersebut menjadi sinyal permasalahan nyata. Siswa SMK tidak siap memasuki pasar kerja dan kesulitan mendapatkan pekerjaan sesuai keahlian yang dimiliki. Seharusnya para siswa memiliki employability skills sebagai bentuk prasyarat memasuki kompetisi kerja. Employability skills para siswa dipengaruhi beberapa faktor diantaranya self regulated learning dan self efficacy. Penelitian ini memiliki tujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh self regulated learning dan self efficacy terhadap employability skills melalui kemampuan kognitif siswa.
Penelitian ini menetapkan metode penelitian kuantitatif dengan pendekatan kausal komparatif, sampel penelitian merupakan siswa kelas 11 SMKN 1 Semen Kediri sebanyak 234 responden, dengan pengambilan data menggunakan kuesioner serta data nilai siswa untuk variabel kemampuan kognitif. Analisis data menggunakan uji SEM menggunakan smart PLS.
Hasil uji statistik analisi jalur mendapati kesimpulan penelitian sebagai berikut (1) ada pengaruh signifikan self regulated learning terhadap employability skills; (2) ada pengaruh signifikan self efficacy terhadap employability skills; (3) ada pengaruh self regulated learning terhadap kemampuan kognitif; (4) ada pengaruh signifikan self efficacy terhadap kemampuan kognitif; (5) ada pengaruh signifikan self regulated learning terhadap employability skills melalui kemampuan kognitif; (6) ada pengaruh signifikan self efficacy terhadap employability skills melalui kemampuan kognitif.
Self regulated learning dan self efficacy yang dimiliki para siswa rupanya menjadi modal penting bagi para siswa untuk mencapai prestasi akademik, siswa dengan kemampuan kognitif yang tinggi memiliki peluang memiliki employability skills yang lebih baik dibandingkan siswa dengan kemampuan kognitif yang rendah. Para siswa perlu diberikan kesadaran untuk mempersiapkan diri dalam memasuki lapangan kerja yang semakin kompetitif penuh persaingan.

Vocational education institutions are substantially intended to produce students who have special abilities and are ready to work. However, the fact that vocational school graduates have been ranked first in the number of unemployed for three years in a row, this condition is a signal of a real problem. Vocational school students are not ready to enter the job market and have difficulty getting jobs according to their skills. Students should have employability skills as a prerequisite for entering job competitions. Students' employability skills are influenced by several factors including self-regulated learning and self-efficacy. This research aims to analyze the influence of self-regulated learning and self-efficacy on employability skills through students' cognitive abilities.
This research establishes a quantitative research method with a comparative causal approach, the research sample is 234 respondents from grade 11 students at SMKN 1 Semen Kediri, with data collected using questionnaires and student score data for the cognitive ability variable. Data analysis using SEM test using smart PLS.
The results of statistical tests found the following research conclusions: (1) there is a significant influence of self-regulated learning on employability skills; (2) there is a significant influence of self-efficacy on employability skills; (3) there is an influence of self-regulated learning on cognitive abilities; (4) there is a significant influence of self-efficacy on cognitive abilities; (5) there is a significant influence of self-regulated learning on employability skills through cognitive abilities; (6) there is a significant influence of self-efficacy on employability skills through cognitive abilities.
Self-regulated learning and self-efficacy that students have seems to be important capital for students to achieve academic achievement. Students with high cognitive abilities have the opportunity to have better employability skills than students with low cognitive abilities. Students need to be given awareness to prepare themselves to enter an increasingly competitive job market full of competition.
