KORELASI ANTARA MINAT BACA DENGAN KEMAMPUAN LITERASI INFORMASI PESERTA DIDIK PAKET B DI SKB GUDO JOMBANG

CORRELATION BETWEEN READING INTEREST AND INFORMATION LITERACY ABILITY OF PACKAGE B STUDENTS AT SKB GUDO JOMBANG

Data statistik UNESCO, Indonesia menempati urutan ke-60 dari 61 negara dengan tingkat literasi rendah. Masalah literasi rendah juga dialami oleh peserta didik Paket B di Sanggar Kegiatan Belajar (SKB) Gudo Jombang. Peserta didik memiliki minat baca yang kurang sehingga berdampak pada kemampuan literasinya. Seperti contoh ketika peserta didik diberikan pertanyaan yang mudah mereka belum bisa menjawab karena tidak ada kemauan untuk membaca dan ketika diperintahkan untuk membaca peserta didik banyak yang mengeluh karena malas. Sebagai upaya meningkatkan kualitas minat baca dan literasi informasi SKB Gudo mendirikan pojok literasi. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui korelasi variabel minat baca dengan variabel kemampuan literasi informasi yang merupakan jenis literasi dasar bagi peserta didik. Pendekatan penelitian ini menggunakan kuantitatif statistik korelasional. Analisis data menggunakan Product Moment yang mengkorelasikan variabel X (Minat Baca) dengan variabel Y (Kemampuan Literasi Informasi). Subjek penelitian berjumlah 41 peserta didik. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu melalui angket, observasi, dan studi dokumentasi yang dilakukan selama 5 bulan. Uji validitas menggunakan SPSS 16.00. Melalui Uji Korelasi dapat diperoleh r hitung 0,643>r tabel 0,308 dengan signifikansi 5% maka Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak. Sehingga hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa terdapat korelasi antara minat baca dengan kemampuan literasi informasi.

UNESCO statistics, Indonesia ranks 60th out of 61 countries with low literacy rates. Low literacy problems are also experienced by Package B students at Gudo Gudo District Technical Office for Early Childhood, Nonformal and Informal Education (SKB) Jombang. Learners have less reading interest so that it has an impact on their literacy ability. For example when learners are given easy questions they have not been able to answer because there is no willingness to read and when instructed to read many learners complain of being lazy. In an effort to improve the quality of reading interest and information literacy, SKB Gudo established a literacy corner. The purpose of the study is to find out the correlation of reading interest variables with information literacy ability variables which are the basic type of literacy for learners. This research approach uses quantitative correlational statistics. Data analysis uses Product Moment which correlates variable X (Reading Interest) with variable Y (Information Literacy Ability). The research subjects amounted to 41 learners. Data collection techniques used are through questionnaires, observations, and documentation studies conducted for 5 months. Test the validity using SPSS 16.00. Through the Correlation Test can be obtained r calculate 0.643>r table 0.308 with a significance of 5% then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected. So the results of this study show that there is a correlation between reading interest and information literacy skills.
