Reny Caatur Wulandari. Development
of an Interactive E-Book on the Line Element as a Supplementary Learning Book
to Enhance the Visual Creativity of Vocational High School Students in the
Visual Communication Design Department. Master’s Thesis, Surabaya. Master’s
Program in Arts and Cultural Education, Faculty of Languages and Arts, State
University of Surabaya. 2025.
Learning in
Visual Communication Design (VCD,DKV) requires visual teaching materials that
align with the characteristics of art and design education. However,
instruction on the line element—one of the foundational topics in VCD—still
relies heavily on printed materials, which has not optimally met the needs of
visual learning. Therefore, this study developed a digital teaching resource in
the form of an interactive e-book, Dinamika Garis , as a supplementary
learning book.
This research
aimed to develop the Dinamika Garis interactive e-book and to evaluate
the product’s feasibility, practicality, and effectiveness. The study employed
a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the ADDIE model, involving
subject-matter experts, media experts, language experts, VCD teachers, and
students. Data were collected through expert validation, student response
questionnaires, and observations, and were analyzed descriptively.
The results
showed that the Dinamika Garis interactive e-book received expert
validation scores of 97% from subject-matter experts, 90% from language
experts, and 97% from media experts, all categorized as “highly feasible.”
Student responses reached 88.9% in the “very good” category, indicating that
the product is easy to use and practical. Thus, the Dinamika Garis
interactive e-book is suitable for use as a supplementary learning book for the
line element topic in the Fundamentals of the Visual Communication Design
Expertise Program course (Phase E).
