THE INFLUENCE OF MAKEUP TRAINING TO THE INTERNALIZATION PROCESS OF STUDENTS' MAKEUP SKILLS AT BEAUTY FOR A BETTER LIFE (BFBL) SPEKTRA SURABAYA
Keterampilan tata rias merupakan salah satu bentuk keterampilan vokasional yang memerlukan pelatihan intensif dan proses internalisasi agar peserta mampu menguasainya secara mendalam dan berkelanjutan. Di era industri kreatif saat ini, kemampuan tata rias tidak hanya menjadi kebutuhan personal, tetapi juga berperan strategis dalam membuka peluang kerja dan wirausaha di bidang kecantikan.Namun, menguasai keterampilan tata rias tidak cukup hanya dengan teori. Dibutuhkan proses pembelajaran yang memungkinkan peserta didik mengalami, memahami, dan menginternalisasi keterampilan tersebut melalui pengalaman langsung. Oleh karena itu, pelatihan yang sistematis dan aplikatif menjadi penting agar keterampilan tersebut tidak hanya bersifat mekanis, tetapi benar-benar tertanam sebagai bagian dari kompetensi personal peserta didik. Latar belakang penelitian berangkat dari peran vital pelatihan praktis dalam mempersiapkan peserta memasuki industri kreatif dan kecantikan, di mana keterampilan teknis seperti tata rias sehari-hari menjadi modal utama untuk berkarir.
Metode yang digunakan bersifat kuantitatif dengan pendekatan survei. Sebanyak 25 peserta pelatihan tata rias BFBL dijadikan sampel penelitian, dan data dikumpulkan melalui angket Likert tertutup yang valid dan reliabel. Melalui instrumen ini, penelitian menggali persepsi dan pengalaman peserta terhadap pelatihan serta sejauh mana mereka mampu menyerap dan menerapkan materi yang disampaikan. Analisis statistik dilakukan menggunakan teknik regresi linier sederhana, yang memungkinkan pemetaan hubungan kausal antara variabel independen (kualitas dan intensitas pelatihan) dengan variabel dependen (peningkatan keterampilan tata rias). Dengan metode ini, diperoleh informasi mengenai koefisien determinasi (R²) yang menunjukkan proporsi varians keterampilan peserta yang ditentukan oleh pelatihan, serta nilai signifikansi untuk menguji kekuatan pengaruhnya.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan tata rias memberikan kontribusi positif dan signifikan terhadap proses internalisasi keterampilan tata rias peserta didik di BFBL Surabaya. Berdasarkan hasil analisis, diperoleh nilai koefisien determinasi (R²) sebesar 0,68 yang berarti bahwa 68% proses internalisasi keterampilan tata rias dipengaruhi oleh pelatihan yang diberikan, sedangkan sisanya dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain di luar penelitian ini. Temuan ini mengindikasikan bahwa pelatihan tata rias yang terstruktur dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan peserta sangat berperan dalam meningkatkan keterampilan praktis mereka.

Make-up artistry is one of the vocational skills that requires intensive training and a process of internalization in order for participants to master it deeply and sustainably. In today’s creative industry era, make-up skills are not only a personal necessity but also play a strategic role in opening up job opportunities and entrepreneurship in the beauty sector.
However, mastering make-up skills cannot rely solely on theoretical knowledge. A learning process that allows participants to experience, understand, and internalize these skills through hands-on practice is essential. Therefore, systematic and practical training becomes crucial to ensure that the skills are not merely mechanical but truly embedded as part of the learners' personal competence. The research is grounded in the crucial role of practical training in preparing learners to enter the creative and beauty industries, where technical competencies like daily makeup application are essential for career advancement.
Employing a quantitative survey design, the study involved 25 training participants as its sample. Data were collected via a closed-ended Likert-scale questionnaire that had been tested for both validity and reliability. This instrument allowed the researchers to capture participants’ perceptions and experiences regarding the training, as well as the degree to which they absorbed and implemented the material presented. Statistical analysis was conducted using simple linear regression, which facilitated an examination of the causal relationship between the independent variable (training quality and intensity) and the dependent variable (skill improvement in makeup application). This analysis produced a coefficient of determination (R²), indicating the proportion of variance in participants' makeup skills explained by the training, and significance levels to assess the strength of this effect.

Based on the results of the analysis, the coefficient of determination (R²) of 0.68 was obtained, which means that 68% of the internalization process of makeup skills is influenced by the training provided, while the rest is influenced by other factors outside this study. The findings indicate that structured and tailored make-up training is instrumental in improving the practical skills of the participants.
