Saat ini Indonesia mulai mengalami perkembangan yang cukup pesat dalam industri kreatif dan entertainment. Menurut Departemen Perdagangan RI tahun 2009, Industri kreatif adalah industri yang berasal dari pemanfaatan keterampilan, kreativitas, dan bakat yang dimiliki individu dalam menciptakan kesejahteraan dan lapangan pekerjaan. Industri ini akan berfokus untuk memberdayakan daya cipta dan daya kreasi berupa kreativitas dari suatu individu. Ther Melian: Recollection merupakan novel bergenre Medieval Fantasy, seri lepas dari Ther Melian Tetralogi yang ditulis oleh Shienny M.S. Seri Ther Melian merupakan tetralogi fantasi pertama di Indonesia. Recollection berisi 34 bab dan memiliki tebal 445 halaman, dan berlatar waktu 20 tahun sebelum kisah dalam buku pertama Ther Melian: Revelation dimulai. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah tersusunnya sebuah infografis yang memuat character concept art kedua tokoh utama dalam cerita novel Ther Melian: Recollection. Concept art merupakan salah satu bentuk komunikasi visual guna menyampaikan ide pada film, video game, animasi atau buku sebelum diaplikasikan pada produk akhir. Dengan adanya perancangan character concept art ini, para audience pecinta fantasi novel dapat lebih memahami visualisasi atau bentuk dari karakter yang sedang mereka baca. Dapat memperkirakan seperti apakah ekspresi, bentuk fisik, hingga detail tentang keunikan dari latar dunia novel tersebut.
