Sebuah komunikasi dapat berhasil apabila terjalin kerja sama yang baik antar peserta komunikasi (pembicara dan pendengar). Kerja sama berarti setiap pembicara dan pendengar harus berkontribusi dalam proses komunikasi. Berkontribusi berarti memberikan informasi yang sesuai dengan apa yang sedang dibicarakan. Terkait dengan kebutuhan ini Paul Grice mengemukakan prinsip yang dikenal sebagai Cooperative Principle atau Prinsip Kooperatif. Namun dalam kondisi riil justru seringkali terjadi pelanggaran terhadap prinsip kooperatif ini. Maka penelitian ini mencoba mengkaji pelanggaran prinsip kooperatif melalui film Who am I –Kein System ist Sicher.

Berberkal data berupa tuturan dalam dialog film tersebut maka penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan penelitian kualitatif. Setelah melalui proses penelitian ditemukan bahwa pada keempat maksim prinsip kooperatif Griece (maksim kualitas, maksim kuantitas, maksim relevansi, dan maksim tata cara) semua ditemukan data pelanggarannya. Dengan bentuk pelanggaran yang berbeda-beda tentunya motivasi yang mendasari tokoh untuk tidak mematuhi prinsip kooperatif juga berbeda-beda.

A communication can be successful if there is good cooperation between communication participants (speakers and listeners). Cooperation means that every speaker and listener must contribute to the communication process. Contributing means providing information that is in accordance with what is being discussed. Related to this need Paul Grice put forward the principle known as the Cooperative Principle. But in real conditions it is often being violated. So this study tries to examine violations of cooperative principle through the film Who am I –Kein System Sicher ist.

With a lot of data in the form of speeches in the film dialogue, this study uses a qualitative research approach. After going through the research process it was found that in the four maxims of the Grice's cooperative principle (maxime of quality, quantity, relevance, and manner) all found violation data. With different forms of violations, of course the motivations underlying the character to not comply with cooperative principles also vary.
