ANALISIS TOKOH ABU DALAM NASKAH “KAPAI-KAPAI” KARYA ARIFIN C. NOER DENGAN TINJAUAN PSIKOLOGI SOSIAL

ANALYSIS OF ABU CHARACTERS IN THE SCRIPT "KAPAI-KAPAI" BY ARIFIN C. NOER WITH REVIEW SOCIAL PSYCHOLOGY

Penelitian ini menganalisis karakter tokoh Abu dalam naskah drama "Kapai-Kapai" karya Arifin C. Noer dengan menggunakan tinjauan psikologi sosial. Drama "Kapai-Kapai" menggambarkan kehidupan sosial Indonesia pada masa awal industrialisasi, khususnya menyoroti kaum yang termarjinalkan, kemiskinan, dan kehidupan buruh. Tokoh utama, Abu, hidup dalam kemiskinan material, moral, dan spiritual, dengan satu-satunya harapan sebagai pendorong hidupnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mendeskripsikan karakter Abu berdasarkan kajian psikologi sosial, serta memahami dimensi penokohan tokoh ini melalui perspektif sosiologi dan psikologi. Dalam analisisnya, penulis menemukan bahwa fantasi, imajinasi, dan kenyataan dalam naskah ini berjalan seiring sehingga sulit dibedakan. Abu digambarkan sebagai individu yang bodoh dalam menyikapi hidupnya, terhimpit oleh keadaan sosial, dan terjebak dalam mimpi-mimpinya tentang kebahagiaan.Penelitian ini juga mengkaji pengaruh lingkungan terhadap karakter Abu, menggunakan konsep-konsep psikologi sosial untuk menganalisis hubungan antara perilaku tokoh dan kondisi sosial di sekitarnya. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat memberikan pemahaman yang lebih mendalam mengenai karakter tokoh dalam naskah drama dan relevansinya dalam kehidupan sosial masa kini.

This study analyzes the character of Abu in the drama script "Kapai-Kapai" by Arifin C. Noer using a review of social psychology. The drama "Kapai-Kapai" depicts the social life of Indonesia in the early days of industrialization, especially highlighting the marginalized, poverty, and the life of workers. The main character, Abu, lives in material, moral, and spiritual poverty, with only hope as the driving force of his life. The purpose of this study is to describe the character of Abu based on the study of social psychology, as well as to understand the dimensions of characterization of this character through the perspective of sociology and psychology. In his analysis, the author found that fantasy, imagination, and reality in this script go hand in hand, making it difficult to distinguish them. Abu is described as an individual who is ignorant in responding to his life, squeezed by social circumstances, and trapped in his dreams of happiness. This study also examines the influence of the environment on the character of Abu, using social psychology concepts to analyze the relationship between the behavior of the character and the social conditions around him. The results of this research are expected to provide a deeper understanding of the characters in drama scripts and their relevance in today's social life.
