Animal Assisted Therapy To Control The Tantrum Behavior Of Children With Autistic Spectrum

Anak dengan spektrum autis berpotensi muncul perilaku tantrum. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengkaji peranan Animal Assisted Therapy  untuk mengendalikan perilaku tantrum pada anak dengan spektrum autis. Jenis analisis data yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan metode penelitian literature review. Sumber data yang dikaji diperoleh dari artikel dalam jurnal yang telah terindeks nasional dan internasional yang berkaitan dengan Animal Assisted Therapy, anak dengan spektrum autis, dan perilaku tantrum. Setelah mengkaji sumber data, diperoleh hasil bahwa penerapan Animal Assisted Therapy dapat mengendalikan perilaku tantrum, terapi ini juga berperan sebagai cara yang berpengaruh pada penurunan intensitas stres dan rasa tidak nyaman, meningkatkan daya konsentrasi, dan berguna untuk melatih interaksi sosial. Dengan adanya bukti bahwa Animal Assisted Therapy  mampu mengendalikan perilaku tantrum, maka perlu adanya penerapan Animal Assisted Therapy di sekolah maupun tempat terapi yang dilakukan oleh guru dan terapis sebagai upaya untuk mengendalikan perilaku tantrum pada anak dengan spektrum autis.

Children with autistic spectrum have the potential to appear tantrum behavior. This study aims to describe the role of animal assisted therapy to control tantrum behavior in children with autistic spectrum. The type of data analysis used is descriptive qualitative with literature review research method. The data sources studied were obtained from national and internationally indexed proceedings and journals related to animal assisted therapy, children with autistic spectrum, and tantrum behavior. After reviewing the data sources, the results were obtained that the application of animal asissted therapy can control the behavior of tantrums, this therapy also serves as a way that affects the decrease in stress intensity and discomfort, increases concentration power, and is useful to train social interactions. With the evidence that Animal Assisted Therapy is able to control tantrum behavior, it’s necessary to implement Animal Assisted Therapy in schools and therapy places carried out by teachers and therapists as an effort to control tantrum behavior in children with the autistic spectrum.
