PENGEMBANGAN FLIPBOOK BERBASIS LITERASI SAINS UNTUK MELATIHKAN KETERAMPILAN BERPIKIR KRITIS PESERTA DIDIK PADA MATERI METABOLISME SEL
Development of Scientific Literacy Based Flipbook to Train Student’s Critical Thinking Skills on Cell Metabolism Topic
Abstrak
Kurikulum bersifat dinamis karena selalu terjadi perubahan dan pengembangan. Kurikulum 2013 lebih
mengutamakan edukasi berbasis teknologi yang dapat dimanfaatkan untuk mengajarkan literasi sains.
Berdasarkan data PISA menunjukkan bahwa kemampuan literasi sains peserta didik masih tergolong
rendah termasuk pada mata pelajaran biologi sehingga dapat berpengaruh pada tingkat berpikir kritis
peserta didik. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah menghasilkan flipbook berbasis literasi sains untuk melatih
keterampilan berpikir kritis pada materi metabolisme sel yang layak berdasarkan validitas dan kepraktisan.
Penelitian ini menggunakan metode 4D (Define, Design, Develop, Disseminate). Data yang didapatkan
menggunakan metode validasi, uji keterbacaan, dan respon peserta didik. Data validasi didapatkan melalui
lembar validasi, data kepraktisan didapatkan dari hasil uji keterbacaan dan respon peserta didik. Data
tersebut dianalisis secara deskriptif kuantitatif. Tempat pelaksanaan penelitian di Jurusan Biologi, Fakultas
Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam Universitas Negeri Surabaya dan dilakukan uji coba terbatas pada
20 peserta didik MAN 1 Lamongan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan validitas flipbook berdasarkan
penilaian dari pakar pendidikan biologi dan guru biologi memperoleh skor 3,89 dengan persentase 97,25%
kategori sangat valid. Uji keterbacaan flipbook memperoleh rata-rata level 12 dan berkategori sulit yaitu
dengan tingkat kelas 12. Kemudian, respon positif peserta didik memperoleh rata-rata 95,68% kategori
sangat praktis. Dengan demikian, flipbook berbasis literasi sains pada materi metabolisme sel yang
dihasilkan dinyatakan valid dan praktis digunakan sebagai bahan ajar dalam pembelajaran serta mampu
melatihkan keterampilan berpikir kritis.

Abstract
The curriculum is dynamic because always occur changing and developing. The 2013 curriculum is
prioritize more about technology-based education patterns that can be used to teach scientific literacy.
Based on PISA data, it shows that students' scientific literacy is still relatively low including biology lesson
so this problem can affect students' critical thinking levels. The purpose of this research is to produce a
flipbook based on scientific literacy to practice critical thinking skills on cell metabolism materials in terms
of based on validity, and practicality. This research uses 4-D method (define, design, develop, and
desiminate). The results were obtained uses validation, and questionnaire methods. Data was obtained with
a validation sheet, practicality was obtained from the results of readability tests and and the response of
learners. The data obtained is analyzed descriptively quantitatively. The location of this research is in the
Department of Biology, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, State University of Surabaya and a
limited trial was conducted on 20 students of MAN 1 Lamongan. The results showed that the validity of
the flipbook based on the assessment of biology education experts and biology teachers obtained a score of
3.89 with a percentage of 97.25% in the very valid category. The flipbook readability test obtained an
average of level 12 and was categorized as difficult, namely with a grade level of 12. Then, the positive
responses of students obtained an average of 95.68% in the very practical category. Thus, scientific literacy
based flipbook in cell metabolism topic produced is declared valid, and practical for as teaching materials
in learning and is able to train critical thinking skills.
