Pengaruh Penggunaan Metode Demonstrasi dan Media Wayang Kardus Terhadap Hasil Belajar Sejarah Peserta Didik Kelas X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Surabaya

THE INFLUENCE OF USING DEMONSTRATION METHODS AND CARDBOARD PUPPET MEDIA ON THE HISTORY LEARNING OUTCOMES OF CLASS X-1 STUDENTS AT SMA NEGERI 1 SURABAYA

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi oleh rendahnya hasil belajar peserta didik pada mata pelajaran Sejarah. Setelah ditelaah, pendidik masih menerapkan metode teacher centered learning dan kurangnya penggunaan metode dan media pada pembelajaran Sejarah. Meski peserta didik memberikan respon yang baik, pembelajaran menjadi kurang bermakna dan materi tidak dipahami dengan kuat. Berdasarkan hasil tes gaya belajar, sebagian besar peserta didik memiliki gaya belajar visual. Sehingga diperlukan suatu metode dan media yang menarik dan dapat memberikan gambaran visual dari materi yang disampaikan. Hal ini membuat peneliti terinspirasi untuk melakukan penelitian dengan judul Pengaruh Penggunaan Metode demonstrasi dan Media wayang kardus Terhadap Hasil Belajar Sejarah Peserta Didik Kelas X-1 SMA Negeri 1 Surabaya.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan jenis penelitian Quasi Eksperimen dan desain penelitian non-equivalent control group design yaitu penelitian yang menggunakan sampel kelas Eksperimen dan kelas Kontrol. Pada penelitian ini kelas X-1 sebagai kelas Eksperimen dan kelas X-4 sebagai kelas kontrol,.

Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa: 1. Terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan metode demonstrasi terhadap hasil belajar sejarah, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil Uji-T yang diperoleh nilai Sig. (two-tailed) 0,026 < 0,05. 2. Terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara penggunaan media wayang kardus terhadap hasil belajar sejarah, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil Uji T yang diperoleh nilai Sig. (two-tailed) 0,015 < 0,05. 3. Terdapat hubungan yang kuat antara metode demonstrasi dan media wayang kardus, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil Uji Korelasi Parsial didapatkan nilai Correlation sebesar 0,609 dengan Nilai Sig. sebesar 0,000 < 0,005. 4. Terdapat pengaruh antara penggunaan metode demonstrasi dan media wayang kardus terhadap hasil belajar Sejarah, hal ini dapat dilihat dari hasil Uji F diperoleh nilai signifikansi adalah sebesar 0,002 < 0,05 dan nilai F hitung (7,402) > F tabel (3,30).

This study was motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the History subject. After the analysis, it was found that the educators still apply the teacher-centered learning method and the lack of history learning methods and media. Therefore, learning would become less meaningful and the materials would not be well received even if the students respond well. Based on the learning style test results, most students had a visual and audio learning style. Hence, we required another method that captivates and can provide a visual representation of the presented material. This inspired the writer to conduct research entitled The Influence of Using Demonstration Methods and Cardboard Puppet Media on the History Learning Outcomes of Class X-1 Students at SMA Negeri 1 Surabaya.

This study used a quantitative approach with a Quasi-Experimental research type and a non-equivalent control group design research design, namely research that used Experiment class and Control class samples. In this study, class X-1 was the experimental class and class X-4 was the control class.

The results of the study demonstrated that: 1. there is a significant influence between the use of the demonstration method on students' history learning outcomes, this can be seen from the result of the T-test which showed the Sig value. (two-tailed) 0,026 < 0,05. 2. There is a significant influence between the use of cardboard puppet media on students' history learning outcomes, this can be seen from the result of the T-test which showed the Sig value. (two-tailed) 0,015 < 0,05. 3. There is a strong relation between the demonstration method and cardboard puppet media, this can be seen from the results of the Partial Correlation Test, which obtained a correlation value of 0.609 with the Sig value. of 0.000 (<0.005). 4. there is an influence between the use of the demonstration method and cardboard puppet media on students' history learning outcomes, this can be seen from the result of the F test which showed the significance value obtained was 0.002 < 0.05 and the calculated F value was (7.402) > F table (3.30).
