Kreativitas berpikir dalam menyelesaikan masalah dapat diajarkan melalui karya sastra anak. Maka dari itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kreativitas tokoh dalam novel anak Garuda Gaganeswara karya Ary Nilandari dengan teori kajian E. Paul Torrance. Teori kajian E. Paul Torrance meliputi, kelancaran berpikir, ketekunan dan kecermatan dalam berpikir, keaslian gagasan, memerinci gagasan baru, dan berpikiran terbuka. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan pustaka. Teknik analisis yang digunakan adalah model analisis Miles dan Huberman, yaitu reduksi, penyajian, dan penarikan kesimpulan data. Data penelitian ini disajikan secara naratif berupa kata, kalimat, paragraf, dan dialog. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan adanya (1) kelancaran berpikir sebanyak tujuh belas data; (2) ketekunan dan kecermatan dalam berpikir sebanyak tiga belas data; (3) keaslian gagasan sebanyak tiga belas data; (4) memerinci gagasan baru sebanyak tiga belas data; dan (5) berpikiran terbuka sebanyak sembilan data pada novel anak Garuda Gaganeswara karya Ary Nilandari. Penelitian ini diharap dapat menjadi pengetahuan atau wawasan baru, referensi, dan pembanding dalam bidang sastra anak serta bagi peneliti berikutnya.

The creativity of thinking in solving problems can be taught through children's literature. Therefore, this study aims to describe the creativity of the characters in the children’s novel Garuda Gaganeswara by Ary Nilandari with the E. Paul Torrance study theory. E. Paul Torrance's theory of study includes fluency, elaboration, originality, abstractness of titles, and resistance to premature closure. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with library collection techniques. The analysis technique used is Miles and Huberman's analysis model, namely data reduction, presentation, and conclusion. This research data is presented narratively in the form of words, sentences, paragraphs, and dialog. The results of this study indicate the existence of (1) fluency much as seventeen data; (2) elaboration much as thirteen data; (3) originality much as thirteen data; (4) abstractness of title much as thirteen data; and (5) resistance to premature closure much as nine data in the children's novel Garuda Gaganeswara by Ary Nilandari. This research is expected to be a new knowledge or insight, reference, and comparison in the field of children's literature as well as for future researchers.
