Pendidikan abad ke-21 menuntut siswa memiliki kemampuan berpikir kritis sebagai salah satu kompetensi utama. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa, keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, dan respon siswa setelah penerapan model pembelajaran discovery learning berbasis kearifan lokal. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah pre-experimental design dengan rancangan penelitian one group pretest posttest design. Subjek penelitian yaitu 25 siswa kelas VIIIA MTs Negeri 2 Situbondo. Instrumen penelitian terdiri dari lembar soal tes, lembar angket observasi, dan lembar angket respon. Analisis peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritis menggunakan analisis N-Gain dan uji Paired t-test, sedangkan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran menggunakan skala likert, dan angket respon menggunakan skala guttman. Hasil N-Gain menunjukkan skor sebesar 0,73 yang termasuk dalam kriteria tinggi, rata-rata keterlaksaan pembelajaran sebesar 91,62% pada pertemuan pertama dan 95,37%pada pertemuan kedua dengan kategori sangat baik dan mendapatkan respon postif dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 92%. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh, dapat disimpulkan proses pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning berbasis kearifan lokal pada materi pemisahan campuran dapat meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Penerapan model ini berpotensi tidak hanya meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis, tetapi juga mendorong keterlibatan aktif siswa melalui konteks yang dekat dengan kehidupan mereka.
21st century education requires students to have critical thinking skills as one of the main competencies. This study aims to describe the improvement of students' critical thinking skills, the implementation of learning, and students' responses after the implementation of the local wisdom-based discovery learning model. The type of research used is pre-experimental design with a one group pretest posttest design research design. The subjects of the study were 25 students of class VIIIA MTs Negeri 2 Situbondo. The research instruments consisted of test question sheets, observation questionnaire sheets, and response questionnaire sheets. Analysis of the improvement of critical thinking skills used N-Gain analysis and Paired t-test, while the implementation of learning used a Likert scale, and the response questionnaire used a Guttman scale. The N-Gain results showed a score of 0.73 which was included in the high criteria, the average implementation of learning was 91.62% at the first meeting and 95.37% at the second meeting with a very good category and received a positive response with an average percentage of 92%. The results of the study obtained, it can be concluded that the learning process with the discovery learning model based on local wisdom on the material of mixed separation can improve students' critical thinking skills. The application of this model has the potential not only to improve critical thinking skills, but also to encourage active involvement of students through contexts that are close to their lives
