Animation
is a digital drawing technique that can be used as a medium for collaboration between art fields,
especially between music and
visual arts. In art education, animation can be combined with musical elements
such as tempo and mood. Based on observations at SMAN 14 Surabaya in grade
XII-9 visual arts classes, the collaboration between music and visual arts was
applied as a practical exam. However, in practice, students still experienced
difficulties in realizing the collaboration
between the two art fields, especially in harmonizing the animation visuals with the musical
accompaniment. Therefore, this research
was conducted
through the development of learning media in
the form of video tutorials on
animation creation using the Ibis Paint X application
as a learning solution.
The purpose
of this study was to describe the steps involved in creating learning
media in the form of video tutorials, to determine the results of testing the use of video tutorials
in animation creation, and to analyze
student responses to this learning media. This study used the Research and Development (R&D) method according to Sugiyono with the 4D development model proposed by Thiagarajan, Dorothy S. Semmel,
and Melvyn I. Semmel in 1974.
The
research results consist of three tutorial videos, namely a 7- minute video introducing animation
and the Ibis Paint X application, a 15-minute video on the stages of animation creation, and a 2-minute video providing explanations and brief
questions. This media was validated
by media experts and subject
matter experts with scores of 82.5 and 90, respectively. A trial
was conducted with 10 students
in class XII-9,
with an average animation
score of 88. Student responses showed a score of
94.2, indicating that
this
learning media
is
highly beneficial and effective.
