ANALISIS KEMAMPUAN PROBLEM SOLVING  SISWA KELAS VII MTsN 1 KOTA SURABAYA PADA MATERI PENCEMARAN LINGKUNGAN

ANALYSIS OF PROBLEM SOLVING SKILLS OF STUDENTS CLASS VII MTSN 1 OF SURABAYA ON ENVIRONMENTAL POLLUTION SUBTANCES

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan kemampuan problem solving siswa kelas VII di MTsN 1 Kota Surabaya pada materi pencemaran lingkungan serta mendeskripsikan faktor yang mempengaruhi problem solving. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2023/2024. Penelitian ini melibatkan 28 siswa kelas VII B di MTsN 1 Kota Surabaya. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah instrumen soal tes yang telah disesuaikan dengan indikator kemampuan probelm solving, angket, serta wawancara. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan dalam menganalisis data yang telah didapatkan adalah dengan menggunakan perhitungan skor. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa secara keseluruhan skor kemampuan problem solving siswa sebesar 54% dengan kategori rendah. Namun, pada setiap indikator memiliki skor rata-rata yang berbeda. Skor rata-rata indikator tertinggi ada pada indikator Mengeksplorasi dan memahami dan Merepresentasi dan menformulasi yakni sebesar 57%. Skor rata-rata indikator terendah terdapat pada indikator Memantau dan merefleksi yakni sebesar 48%. Faktor yang paling mempengaruhi kemampuan problem solving siswa adalah faktor pengalaman dan penguasaan materi.

This study aims to describe the problem solving skills of class VII students at MTsN 1 Kota Surabaya on environmental pollution material and describe the factors that influence problem solving. This type of research is descriptive quantitative which was carried out in the even semester of the 2023/2024 school year. This study involved 28 students of class VII B using at MTsN 1 Kota Surabaya The instruments used in this research include test questions aligned with problem-solving ability indicators, questionnaires, and interviews. The data analysis technique employed in this study is score calculation. The results of this study indicate that the overall score of students' problem solving ability is 54% with a low category. However, each indicator has a different average score. The average score of the highest indicator is in the Exploring and understanding and Representing and formulating indicators, which is 57%. The average score of the lowest indicator is in the indicator Monitoring and reflecting which is 48%. The most influential factors affecting students' problem-solving abilities are experience and mastery of the material.
