Utami, Pratiwi Budi. 2024. The Influence of Project Based Leaning (PjBL) and Discovery Learning (DL) on Learning Outcomes for Land Measurement Elements in View from the Independence Learning of Class X Geomatika at SMKN 3 Jombang. Thesis, Technology and Vocational Study Program. Postgraduate Program in Surabaya State University School. Supervisor (1) Dr. Tri Rijanto, M.Pd., M.T. and (2) Arie Wardhono, S.T., M.MT., M.T., Ph.D.
Education plays an important role in developing higher quality human resources. It is highly recommended for subjects to apply learning models that encourage students to be able to solve problems and practice their skills. If the initial condition of students is high/good, then students' learning independence will also be high, and if students' learning independence is high, learning outcomes will be optimal. This research aims to: (1) determine the differences in learning outcomes of students using Project Based Learning compared to those using Discovery Learning, (2) determine the differences in learning outcomes of students who have high independent learning abilities compared to students who have low independent learning abilities, and (3) knowing the interaction between learning models and independence learning on learning outcomes.
The type of research that will be used in this research is a factorial design experiment, which is a modified form of quasi experiment. This research used research subjects, namely class X Geomatika1 as the experimental class and class X Geomatika 2 as the control class. The experimental class was treated using the Project Based Learning model and the control class was treated using the Discovery Learning model. The instruments used in this research include: (1) RPP, (2) Questionnaire independence learning, (3) Cognitive assessment sheet, (4) Psychomotor assessment sheet, and (5) Materials learning. The difference in average student scores between the experimental class and the control class was analyzed using 2 way ANOVA using SPSS 24 software provided that it met the normality of distribution test and the homogeneity of variance test.
In line with the research objectives, the research results show that: (1) The learning outcomes of students who use Project Based Learning with a value of 78,40 are higher than those of students who use Discovery Learning 7with a value of 3,73; (2) Students with high independence learning obtain higher learning outcomes than students with low independence learning; and (3) There is an interaction between the learning model and independence learning on student learning outcomes with significance value 0,021.
Key Words: Project Based Learning (PjBL), Discovery Learning (DL), Learning Independence, Learning Outcomes.
