Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan besar pengaruh hard skills, interpersonal skills, dan karakter terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian desain pemodelan dan informasi bangunan (DPIB) di Surabaya.

Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian kuantitatif ex post facto. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya, SMK Negeri 3 Surabaya, dan SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya kompetensi keahlian DPIB yang pada semester genap tahun ajaran 2021/2022 melaksanakan prakerin dengan jumlah 197 siswa. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah proportional sampling dengan ukuran sampel sejumlah 132 siswa. Lembar observasi dan angket digunakan sebagai instrumen pengambilan data. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis statistik deskriptik dan analisis jalur menggunakan structural equation model (SEM).

Hasil penelitian ini adalah sebagai berikut. (1) Hard skills mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (2) Interpersonal skills mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (3) Karakter mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (4) Hard skills  mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap karakater siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (5) Interpersonal skills mempunyai pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap karater siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (6) Hard skills mempunyai pengaruh secara tidak langsung melalui karakter terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB; (7) Interpersonal skills mempunyai pengaruh secara tidak langsung melalui karakter terhadap kompetensi siswa SMK bidang keahlian DPIB.

This study aims to find out the influence of hard skills, interpersonal skills, and characters on the competence of SMK graduates in the field of building modeling and information design expertise (DPIB) in Surabaya.

This research belongs to the type of quantitative research with the ex post facto category. The population in this study were all students at SMK Negeri 2 Surabaya, SMK Negeri 3 Surabaya, and SMK Negeri 7 Surabaya DPIB expertise competencies who in the even semester of the 2021/2022 academic year carried out field work practices with a total of 197 students. The sampling technique used is proportional sampling with a sample size of 132 students. Observation and documentation are used as data collection techniques. Data analysis was carried out by descriptive analysis, and path analysis using a structural equation model (SEM).

The results of this study are as follows. (1) Hard skills have a significant influence on the competence of SMK students in the DPIB field; (2) Interpersonal skills have a significant influence on the competence of SMK students in the DPIB field; (3) Character has a significant influence on the competence of SMK students in the DPIB field; (4) Hard skills have a significant influence on the character of SMK students in the DPIB field; (5) Interpersonal skills have a significant influence on the character of SMK students in the DPIB field; (6) Hard skills have an indirect influence through character on the competence of SMK students in the DPIB field; (7) Interpersonal skills have an indirect influence through character on the competence of SMK students in the DPIB field..
