Ada dua tujuan utama dari penelitian ini, (1) Adakah hubungan pengetahuan konten guru dan kinerja dan (2) Deskripsi hubungan antara pengetahuan konten guru dan kinerja siswa. Menggunakan mixed-method, penelitian ini mengkaji 10 pengajar matematika kelas VII dan 210 siswa yang diampu oleh guru tersebut di Yayasan Al-Amien Prenduan.
Penelitian terdiri dalam dua fase: Fase kuantitatif dan Fase Kualitatif. Fase kuantitatif meliputi Analisis data statistik dengan menggunakan uji rank-spearman, pemetaan guru berdasarkan skor tes pengetahuan konten guru dalam tiga level pengetahuan, tinggi, sedang dan rendah, dan pemilihan dua subjek mewakili level tinggi dan rendah. Fase kualitatif meliputi, deskripsi pengetahuan konten guru, analisis respon siswa pada setiap item pertanyaan, dan hubungan pengetahuan konten guru & kinerja siswa.
Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tidak ada hubungan antara pengetahuan konten guru dan kinerja siswa.
There are two main objectives of this study, (1) Is there a relationship between teacher content knowledge and performance and (2) Description of the relationship between teacher content knowledge and student performance. Using a mixed-method, this study examined ten teachers who taught the seventh class and 210 students who were taught by the teacher, this research was conducted at the Al-Amien Prenduan Foundation.
The research consisted of two phases: The Quantitative Phase and the Qualitative Phase. The Quantitative Phase includes statistical data analysis using the Chi-Square test and the Rank-Spearman test, teachers were mapped in three different levels, low, middle and high based on the score of Content Knowledge test and the selection of two subjects represents high and low levels. The Qualitative Phase includes, Teacher Content Knowledge (TCK) profiles, analysis of student responses to each question item, and the relationship between Teacher Content Knowledge & student performance.
The results of the study showed that there was no relationship between Teacher Content Knowledge and student performance.
