Membaca pemahaman adalah keterampilan penting untuk memahami makna teks secara mendalam. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengukur efektivitas strategi PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) dalam meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik tunarungu di SLB Dharma Bakti Patianrowo. Penelitian kuantitatif ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimental one group pre-test post- test dengan 8 peserta didik tunarungu sebagai subjek. Analisis data menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Match Pair Test menunjukkan nilai signifikansi 0,012, yang lebih kecil dari α = 0,05, mengindikasikan peningkatan signifikan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa strategi PQ4R dapat digunakan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik tunarungu. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi PQ4R efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan membaca pemahaman peserta didik tunarungu di SLB Dharma Bakti Patianrowo.

THE EFFECT OF PQ4R LEARNING STRATEGY (PREVIEW,
QUESTION, READ, REFLECT, RECITE, REVIEW) ON THE
READING COMPREHENSION ABILITY OF DEAF STUDENTS
AT SLB DHARMA BAKTI PATIANROWO
Reading comprehension is a crucial skill for understanding the meaning of a text in depth. This study aims to assess the effectiveness of the PQ4R (Preview, Question, Read, Reflect, Recite, Review) strategy in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of deaf students at SLB Dharma Bakti Patianrowo. This quantitative research employs a preexperimental one-group pre-test post-test design with eight deaf students as participants. Data analysis using the Wilcoxon MatchedPairs Test yielded a significance value of 0.012, which is lower than α = 0.05, indicating a significant improvement. These findings suggest that the PQ4R strategy can be effectively used to enhance the reading comprehension skills of deaf students. It can be concluded that the PQ4R strategy is an effective approach to improving the reading comprehension abilities of deaf students at SLB Dharma Bakti Patianrowo.
