Problem Based Learning (PBL) adalah model pembelajaran yang berpusat pada peserta didik dengan menyajikan permasalahan pada peserta didik dengan tujuan mengembangkan pemikiran peserta didik lebih kritis dan mampu memahami dan membuat pemecah masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning (PBL) memiliki pengaruh terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat efektif peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain quasi experiment dengan mengaplikasikan model Pretest-Posttest Control Desaign yang merupakan desain eksperimen. Teknik pengambilan data menggunakan tes dan observasi yang memanfaatkan instrument metode tes dan observasi. Alat penilaian dari penelitian ini adalah pre-test dan post-test, sedangkan instrument observasi adalah instrument pelaksanaan Problem Based Learning (PBL). Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Ha diterima dan Ho ditolak dengan hasil uji hipotesis dengan menggunakan uji t-test (independent sample test) 0,034 < 0,05. Maka disimpulkan bahwa X berpengaruh terhadap Y. Dengan PBL memiliki nilai pengaruh sebesar 46,5% terhadap keterampilan menulis kalimat efektif peserta didik kelas V sekolah dasar dan sisanya disebabkan oleh faktor lain. 

Problem Based Learning (PBL) is a learning model that is student-centered by presenting problems to students with the aim of developing students' thinking more critically and being able to understand and create problem solvers. The aim of this research is to determine the influence the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model has on the effective sentence writing skills of fifth grade elementary school students. This research uses a quasi-experimental design by applying the Pretest-Posttest Control Design model which is an experimental design. Data collection techniques use tests and observations that utilize test and observation method instruments. The assessment tools for this research are pre-test and post-test, while the observation instrument is the instrument for implementing Problem Based Learning (PBL). The research results show that Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected with the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test (independent sample test) 0.034 < 0.05. Therefore, it was concluded that X had an influence on Y. With PBL, it had an influence value of 46,5% on the effective sentence writing skills of grade V elementary school students and the rest was caused by other factors.
