Penciptaan Evening Wear dengan Konsep Metafora Legenda Gunung Kelud

Creation of Evening Wear Fashion with a Metaphorical Concept of The Legend of Mount Kelud

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian yang menciptakan evening wear / busana pesta malam dengan inspirasi metafora dari cerita rakyat legenda Gunung Kelud, yang mengangkat nilai-nilai filosofis, simbolik, dan spiritual dari tokoh Perempuan Dewi Kilisuci sebagai representasi kekuatan, kesucian, serta keanggunan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (1) Mendeskripsikan proses penciptaan evening wear dengan konsep metafora Legenda Gunung Kelud, (2) Mendeskripsikan proses penciptaan evening wear dengan konsep metafora Legenda Gunung Kelud, (3) Mendeskripsikan hasil jadi penciptaan evening wear dengan konsep metafora Legenda Gunung Kelud. Metode yang digunakan adalah Practice-led Research, dengan tahapan eksplorasi, perancangan, perwujudan, dan penyajian karya. Proses eksplorasi dilakukan melalui observasi ke situs Gua Selomangleng, wawancara dengan budayawan Kediri, serta studi literatur mengenai sumber inspirasi dan metafora. Dari eksplorasi diperoleh kata kunci yang kemudian dikembangkan menjadi konsep desain melalui mind mapping dan mood board. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa (1)  hasil karya menerapkan metafora kombinasi antara aspek intangible (kesucian, keanggunan, dan keberanian tokoh Perempuan dalam Legenda Gunung Kelud) serta tangible (relief lidah api dan Gua Selomangleng sebagai penguat jejak), (2) Penelitian ini menghasilkan 2 busana pria dan 1 busana pria dengan sumber ide metafora cerita rakyat Gunung Kelud, (3) Busana ini disajikan dalam rangkaian acara 36^th Annual Fashin Show “MAHATRAKALA”. Hasil akhir menunjukan bahwa penerapan konsep metafora budaya lokal mampu menghasilkan karya busana yang estetis, simbolik, dan memiliki karakter budaya yang kuat.

This study is a research on the creation of evening wear inspired by the metaphor of the folklore legend of Mount Kelud, highlighting the philosophical, symbolic, and spiritual values of the Female Figure Dewi Kilisuci as a representation of strength, purity, and elegance. The objectives of this study are to (1) describe the process of creating evening wear with the metaphor concept of the Legend of Mount Kelud, (2) describe the design development process of evening wear based on this metaphor concept, and (3) describe the final results of evening wear creation with the metaphor concept of the Legend of Mount Kelud. The method used is practice-led research, consisting of exploration, design, realization, and presentation stages. The exploration stage was conducted through site observation at Selomangleng Cave, interviews with Kediri cultural experts, and literature study on sources of inspiration and metaphor. From the exploration, keywords were obtained and then developed into a design concept through mind mapping and mood boards. The results of the study indicate that (1) the final works implement a metaphor combining intangible aspects (purity, elegance, and bravery of the Female Figure in the Legend of Mount Kelud) with tangible aspects (flame reliefs and Selomangleng Cave as trace enhancers), (2) the study produced 2 male outfits and 1 female outfit based on the metaphorical ideas from the folklore of Mount Kelud, and (3) these outfits were presented in the 36th Annual Fashion Show “MAHATRAKALA.” The final results show that applying a local cultural metaphor concept can produce garments that are aesthetic, symbolic, and strongly imbued with cultural character.
