Penelitian yang berjudul “Sikap dan Fungsi Jiwa Tokoh Kevin dalam Novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi Karya Boy Candra: Kajian Psikoanalisis Carl Gustav Jung” ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kelebihan dari novel yakni terletak pada watak dan karakter tokoh Kevin yang ada di dalamnya. Tokoh Kevin tersebut tidak hanya memiliki ciri-ciri dari sikap jiwa (introver dan ekstrover) melainkan juga memiliki ciri fungsi jiwa (pikiran, perasaan, pengindraan, intuisi). Tokoh Kevin terlihat seperti seseorang yang tertutup, tetapi ternyata memiliki kepedulian yang sangat besar terhadap lingkungan.

Berdasarkan latar belakang masalah di atas maka rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah 1) Bagaimana sikap jiwa tokoh Kevin dalam novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi karya Boy Candra?, 2) Bagaimana fungsi jiwa tokoh Kevin dalam novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi karya Boy Candra?, dan 3) Bagaimana konsep arketipe tokoh Kevin dengan tokoh yang lain pada novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi karya Boy Candra?. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah 1) Mendeskripsikan sikap jiwa tokoh Kevin dalam novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi, 2) Mendeskripsikan fungsi jiwa tokoh Kevin dalam novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi, dan 3) Mendeskripsikan konsep arketipe tokoh Kevin dengan tokoh yang lain pada novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi karya Boy Candra.

Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan objektif dengan teori psikologi sastra milik Carl Gustav Jung. Data dalam penelitian ini berupa seluruh informasi yang didapat dari perkataan, dialog, ataupun perbuatan tentang sikap jiwa (introver dan ekstrover), fungsi jiwa (pikiran, perasaan, pengindraan, intuisi), dan konsep arketipe (persona, anima-animus, shadow, self) yang terdapat pada tokoh. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah teknik baca-catat dan teknik analisis data menggunakan teknik deskripsi analisis yang meliputi deskripsi, klasifikasi, dan interpretasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan teori Carl Gustav Jung yakni sikap jiwa (introver dan ekstrover), fungsi jiwa (pikiran, perasaan, pengindraan, intuisi), dan konsep arketipe (persona, anima-animus, shadow, self).

Berdasarkan hasil analisis, dapat diketahui bahwa sikap jiwa tokoh Kevin yang lebih dominan adalah sikap introver dan fungsi jiwa tokoh Kevin yang dominan yakni ekstraversi-pikiran, introversi-perasaan, introversi-pengindraan, dan ekstraversi-intuisi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis fungsi jiwa terlihat bahwa tidak selalu seseorang yang memiliki fungsi pikiran ekstraversi juga akan memiliki fungsi perasaan ekstraversi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis konsep arketipe tokoh Kevin yakni memiliki persona yang ia tunjukkan kepada orang lain dan memengaruhi sifat orang lain pula yang disebabkan karena interaksinya dengan Kevin, selain itu persona timbul karena keadaan lingkungan di sekitar Kevin. Kevin juga memiliki anima yakni sisi wanita berupa kemandirian melakukan kegiatan rumah tangga dan kesedihan yang seringkali ia sembunyikan. Selanjutnya ada shadow atau sifat yang disembunyikan oleh Kevin dari orang lain yakni sifat iri ketika ia melihat keluarga orang lain, dan self yang belum tampak pada Kevin karena belum terlihatnya tujuan hidup sebenarnya dari tokoh Kevin tersebut.

The research entitled "Personality of Kevin’s Figure in Novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra: Psychoanalysis Study of Carl Gustav Jung" was motivated by the advantages of the novel which lies in Kevin's character and character in it. The Kevin character not only has the characteristics of an attitude of the soul (introverted and extroverted) but also has the characteristics of a mental function (thoughts, feelings, sensations, intuition). Kevin's figure looks like someone who is closed, but turns out to have a very big concern for the environment.

Based on the background of the problem above, the formulation of the problem in this study is 1) How the attitude of the soul of Kevin's figure in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra ?, 2) How does Kevin's soul function in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra ?, and 3) How does Kevin's archetype concept with other characters in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra ?. The purpose of this study is 1) Describe the mental attitude of Kevin's character in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra, 2) Describe the mental functions of Kevin's character in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra, and 3) Describe the archetypal concept of Kevin with other characters in novel Seperti Hujan yang Jatuh ke Bumi creation Boy Candra.

This study uses an objective approach with literary psychology theory owned by Carl Gustav Jung. The data in this study are all information obtained from words, dialogues, or acts of mental attitude (introvert and extrovert), mental functions (thoughts, feelings, sensations, intuition), and archetypal concepts (persona, anima-animus, shadow, self ) contained in the character. The data collection technique used is a note-taking technique and data analysis techniques using analysis description techniques which include description, classification, and interpretation. This study uses the theory of Carl Gustav Jung, namely the attitude of the soul (introvert and extrovert), the function of the soul (mind, feeling, sensation, intuition), and the concept of archetypes (persona, anima-animus, shadow, self).

Based on the results of the analysis, it can be seen that the more dominant attitude of the character of Kevin is the dominant introvert attitude and mental function of Kevin's characters, namely mind-extraversion, introvert-feeling, introversion, and extraversion-intuition. Based on the results of the analysis of mental functions it can be seen that not always someone who has the function of mind extraversion will also have the function of feeling extraversion. Based on the results of the analysis of the archetypal concept of Kevin's character, which has the persona that he shows to others and influences the nature of other people due to his interaction with Kevin, besides that the person arises because of the environment around Kevin. Kevin also has anima that is the woman's side in the form of independence in doing household activities and sadness that he often hides. Furthermore, there are shadows or traits that are hidden by Kevin from other people, namely jealousy when he sees other people's families, and self that has not been seen on Kevin because he has not seen the actual life goals of the character Kevin.
