PENERAPAN MURAL DINDING GREEN SCHOOL DI UPT SMP NEGERI 5 GRESIK SEBAGAI MEDIA EDUKASI
THE IMPLIMENTATION OF GREEN SCHOOL MURALS IN UPT SMP NEGERI 5 GRESIK AS EDUCATIONAL MEDIA
Mural dalam dunia pendidikan berperan sebagai media edukasi dengan cara visualisasi. Sebagai media edukasi, mural memang disarankan untuk peserta didik agar dapat mencoba dan melihat penggoresan cat di dinding yang dibuat. Penggarapan mural dinding di wilayah sekolah tidak hanya sebagai sarana keindahannya saja, akan tetapi sebagai sarana komunikasi dan interaksi, sehingga pesan dalam mural dapat tersampaikan kepada peserta didik, pendidik dan seluruh warga sekolah. Menilik keadaan sekolah di UPT SMP Negeri 5 Gresik yang kurang dengan keindahan di setiap dinding sekolah dan sekiranya penyokong salah satu program peduli lingkungan sehat, bersih serta lingkungan indah yaitu Sekolah Adiwiyata (Green School). Hal ini menjadi salah satu alasan mural dinding di sekolah. Rumusan dalam penelitian ini adalah bagaimana konsep, proses penerapan mural, dan hasil penerapan mural, serta bagaimana evaluasi dan refleksi terhadap penerapan mural Green School. Tujuannya adalah mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan konsep, proses penerapan mural, dan hasil penerapan mural, serta evaluasi dan refleksi terhadap mural Green School.
Pendekatan penelitian dengan metode Deskriptif-Kualitatif. Subjek dari penelitian ialah siswa. Sumber data yang diambil merupakan sumber data primer dan sekunder. Dalam penelitian, penulis mengumpulkan data dengan cara observasi partisipatif, wawancara tersturktur, dan studi dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, simpulan/verifikasi. Validitas data dengan menguji keabsahan data melalui triangulasi dengan tujuan membandingkan data-data yang telah ada.
Hasil penelitian mural meliputi; Proses penerapan mural dinding di UPT SMP Negeri 5 Gresik sebagai media edukasi terdiri dari (sosialisasi mural, lokasi mural, pembuatan desain, alat dan bahan, pembuatan sketsa dinding, proses pengecatan, finishing clear coating, pembersihan lokasi mural), Mural yang dikerjakan oleh siswa menghasilkan mural kelompok 1 dan kelompok 2, serta wawancara dalam penelitian dilakukan kepada siswa yang berpartisipasi maupun yang tidak berpartisipasi, serta kepala sekolah dan guru. Penerapan mural Green School ini melibatkan seluruh warga sekolah, ditinjau dari respon dan apresiasi yang telah diterima dari awal proses hingga finishing.

In educational fields, Mural acts as an educational media with visualization. As an educational media, murals are highly recommended for students to try and see the paint strokes on the walls they make. The Mural cultivation process in school areas is not only a means of beauty, but as well as means of communication and interaction, so that the messages in the murals can be conveyed to students, educators and all the school members. Observing the circumstance of UPT SMP Negeri 5 Gresik, which has no evidence of aesthetic appeal on every school wall, encourages one of the environmental care schemes for a healthy, beautiful, and clean environment, namely the Adiwiyata School (Green School). This is of the reasons regarding the school's wall murals. The formulation in this study is how the concept, process of mural application, and the results of the mural application, as well as how to evaluate and reflect on the application Green School mural itself. This study aims to know and describe the concept, the mural application process, and the results of the mural application, as well as evaluation and reflection on the mural Green School.
This study uses a Descriptive-Qualitative approach. The subjects of the research are students. Sources of data taken are primary and secondary data sources. The authors collect the data with participatory observation, structured interviews, and documentation studies. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation, conclusion/verification. Lastly, In order to test the validity of the data, the researcher uses triangulation with the aim of comparing existing data.
The results of the mural research included: (1) The process of applying murals at UPT SMP Negeri 5 Gresik as an educational medium consisted of mural socialization, mural locations, making designs, tools and materials, making wall sketches, painting processes, finishing clear coating, cleaning mural locations. (2) The murals worked on by the students resulted in group 1 and group 2 murals. (3) The interviews in the study were conducted with participating and non-participating students, as well as school principals and teachers. Application of Green School murals This involves the entire school community regarding the response and appreciation received from the start of the process to the finishing.
