Kata-kata Kunci: Thiamine (vitamin B1), creatine monohydrate, pemulihan denyut nadi, asam laktat darah.
The aims of this study were to analyze: (1) the effect of thiamine administration on recovery of the blood lactic acid and the heart rate frequency, (2) the effect of thiamine and creatine monohydrate administration on recovery of the blood lactic acid and the heart rate frequency, and (3) the different effect between thiamine and creatine monohydrate administrations on recovery of the blood lactic acid and the heart rate frequency.
The subject in this study were 24 students of Sport Coaching education Program of Sport Science Faculty of State University of Surabaya. The samples were divided into four groups which include (1) placebo group, (2) positive control group was given only the active recovery after performing run test on treadmill, (3) creatine treatment group was given 0.3 mg of creatine monohydrate per kilogram for 6 days (four times per day) and after running test was given an active recovery, and (4) thiamine treatment group was given 10 mg of thiamine per kilogram, four hours before running test and after running test given active recovery.
The results indicate (1) The administration of thiamine accelerates the decrease in the pulse rate during the firts minute of recovery, (2) The administration of creatine accelerates the decrease in the blood lactic acid levels during the ninth minute of recovery, (3) Thiamine provides a distinct influence of creatine. Thiamine further accelerates the decreased in the pulse rate while creatine further accelerates the decrease in the blood lactic acid levels. Thus, it can be concluded that the proper administration of the supplement affects the accelerated recovery of the pulse rate frequency and the blood lactic acid levels.
Key words: Thiamine (vitamin B1), creatine monohydrate, heart rate recovery, blood lactic acid.
