Gambaran Resiliensi Akademik Mahasiswa Yang Sedang Menyelesaikan Tugas Akhir
An Overview of Academic Resilience Among Students Completing Their Final Project

This research addresses the profound academic and emotional distress experienced by final-year students during the preparation of their final thesis, a demanding process that frequently precipitates stress and depression. The students' capacity to overcome and withstand such adversities is highly contingent upon their academic resilience. This qualitative study employs a phenomenological approach to provide an in-depth exploration of the students' subjective experiences. Data were gathered through in-depth, semi-structured interviews with five participants selected via purposive sampling, and subsequently analyzed utilizing the Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA) framework. The findings revealed four emergent superordinate themes: (1) internal and external barriers; (2) dimensions of academic resilience, encompassing perseverance, adaptive help-seeking, and emotional responses; (3) resilience-enhancing factors, including optimism, motivation, and social support; and coping mechanisms. In conclusion, despite the highly rigorous and stressful nature of thesis writing, students manage to sustain their academic functioning through resilience, which is cultivated by internal drives, environmental support systems, and the implementation of adaptive coping strategies.
