Karya musik “Sang Pendaki” merupakan sebuah komposisi musik jenis programmatic, yang mengangkat fenomena tentang semangat seorang pendaki dengan segala kekuatan fisik dan batinnya untuk selalu siap mengarungi berbagai macam halangan dan rintangan. Karena dunia yang dipijak manusia ibarat sebuah gunung yang harus didaki untuk mencapai segala puncak pengharapan. Karya musik tersebut secara keseluruhan merupakan karya musik yang mengutamakan langkah pengembangan melodi utama dengan menggunakan teori variasi melodi. Beberapa teori variasi melodi yang digunakan adalah Melodic Variation and Fake, Cliché, Dead Spot Filler dan Filler Like Obligato. Metode dalam perwujudan karya melalui proses tahapan rangsangan awal yang memperhitungkan rangsangan auditif dan visual, kemudian menentukan konsep penciptaan dan menyusun komposisi instrumen. Setelah tahap tersebut dilaksanakan, selanjutnya adalah pembentukan tata teknik pentas dan memulai proses penciptaan, melalui eksplorasi kerja studio, analisis dan evaluasi, serta menyampaikan materi kekaryaan kepada para pemain, agar karya dapat sesuai dengan konsep karya musik “Sang Pendaki” yang telah disusun.
