Peningkatan keterlibatan remaja dalam game online berdampak pada penurunan fungsi akademik, pengelolaan waktu, dan regulasi diri, sehingga diperlukan intervensi konseling yang berfokus pada aspek kognitif perilaku adiktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji efektivitas Konseling Kognitif Perilaku dalam menurunkan tingkat adiksi game online melalui perubahan pikiran otomatis negatif. Penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain true experiment tipe pretest–posttest control group. Penelitian dilaksanakan di SMAN 1 Kebomas dengan subjek 12 murid berkategori adiksi game online tinggi yang dipilih melalui teknik purposive sampling. Subjek dibagi ke dalam kelompok eksperimen yang memperoleh Konseling Kognitif Perilaku dan kelompok kontrol yang memperoleh Konseling Ringkas Berfokus Solusi. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan skala adiksi game online faktor kognitif berjumlah 28 butir pernyataan dan dianalisis menggunakan uji t. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penurunan tingkat adiksi game online pada kelompok eksperimen lebih signifikan dibandingkan kelompok kontrol (p < 0,05). Simpulan penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Konseling Kognitif Perilaku efektif dalam mereduksi adiksi game online pada remaja. Oleh karena itu, layanan bimbingan dan konseling di sekolah disarankan mengintegrasikan pendekatan kognitif perilaku dalam menangani perilaku adiktif remaja.

Increased involvement of adolescents in online gaming has an impact on declining academic performance, time management, and self-regulation, thus requiring counseling intervention that focuses on the cognitive aspects of addictive behavior. This study aims to test the effectiveness of Cognitive Behavioral Counseling in reducing the level of online gaming addiction through changes in negative automatic thoughts. The study used a quantitative approach with a true experiment design of the pretest–posttest control group type. The study was conducted at SMAN 1 Kebomas with 12 students categorized as having high online game addiction, selected through purposive sampling. The subjects were divided into an experimental group that received Cognitive and a control group that received Brief Solution-Focused Counseling. Data were collected using a 28-item cognitive factor online game addiction scale and analyzed using a t-test. The results showed that the decrease in online game addiction levels in the experimental group was more significant than in the control group (p <0.05). The conclusion of this study indicates that Cognitive Behavioral Counseling is effective in reducing online game addiction among adolescents. Therefore, school guidance and counseling services are advised to integrate cognitive behavioral approaches in addressing adolescent addictive behaviors.
