Dalam sebuah rumah sakit tentu mempunyai tenaga kesehatan yang beragam, misalnya saja perawat yang bertugas sebagai pemberi layanan kesehatan yang sifatnya lebih dekat dengan pasien atau keluarga pasien. Perawat merupakan sumber utama sebagai penyalur dan pemberi informasi dari tenaga kesehatan lain seperti dokter kepada pasien atau keluarga pasien. Namun masih ditemukan banyaknya di sebagian besar rumah sakit yaitu perawat yang tidak mementingkan model komunikasi guna untuk memberikan informasi tentang perkembangan kondisi pasien kepada keluarga pasien, sehingga muncul permasalahan bahwa masih ada banyaknya perawat yang tidak menggunakan model komunikasi (linier, interaksi, transaksi) dalam proses komunikasi yang terjadi untuk memberikan informasi tentang perkembangan kondisi pasien kepada keluarga pasien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui model komunikasi yang digunakan perawat dalam memberikan informasi tentang perkembangan kondisi pasien kepada keluarga pasien. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan metode studi kasus. Dari hasil analisis, terdapat adanya model komunikasi secara interaksi dan transaksi yang terjadi dalam perawatan di Rumah Sakit Bhayangkara Haji Samsoeri Mertojoso Surabaya. Selama proses perawatan yaitu dikarenakan munculnya faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi proses komunikasi yang ada sehingga dapat dikatakan efisien, serta dari adanya model komunikasi tersebut sehingga dapat dinilai bahwa peran perawat di sini sangat berperan penting dalam kesembuhan dan keadaan atau kondisi dari pasien.

In a hospital would certainly have diverse health workforce, for example, a nurse who served as a health care giver which is closer to the patient or the patient's family. The nurse is a primary source as a dealer and the information from other health care such as doctor to the patient or the patient's family. But still found the number in most hospitals, namely the nurses not concerned with communication model in order to provide information about the development of the patient's condition to the patient's family, so it appears that there are still problems the number of nurses who do not use the communication models (linear, interactions, transactions) in the process of communication that happens to provide information about the development of the patient's condition to the patient's family. This research aims to know the communication model used nurses in providing information about the development of the patient's condition to the patient's family. The researchers used a qualitative approach in methods of case studies. From the results of the analysis, there is the existence of a model communication interactions and transactions that occur in treatment at the Bhayangkara Hospital Haji Samsoeri Mertojoso Surabaya. During the process of treatment that is due to the emergence of factors that affect the process of communication that there is so much that can be said to be efficient, as well as of the existence of the communication so that the model can be assessed that the role of nurses here are very instrumental important in healing and the State or condition of the patient.
