Penerapan Virtual Laboratory untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Proses Sains Siswa di Masa Pandemi
Implementation of Virtual Laboratory to Improve Students’ Science Process Skills during Pandemic
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan peningkatan keterampilan proses sains siswa dengan menerapkan media virtual laboratory melalui model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing pada materi Hukum Archimedes. Metode penelitian ini, yaitu pra-eksperimen dengan rancangan one group pretest posttest design. Subjek penelitian ini, yaitu 35 siswa kelas VIII J SMP Negeri 1 Surabaya. Metode pengumpulan data dengan memberikan pretest sebelum dan posttest sesudah penerapan pembelajaran serta observasi terhadap keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dengan lembar observasi. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji-t berpasangan dan uji N-Gain. Hasil uji-t berpasangan dengan (p) (0.00) < 0.05 menunjukkan adanya pengaruh perlakuan terhadap keterampilan proses sains siswa. Adapun hasil uji N-Gain menunjukkan nilai rata-rata sebesar 0,8 dengan kategori tinggi serta tercapai ketuntasan klasikal sebesar 80%. Berdasarkan hasil yang didapatkan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa media virtual laboratory dengan model pembelajaran inkuiri terbimbing dapat meningkatkan keterampilan proses sains siswa pada materi Hukum Archimedes.

This study aimed to describe the improvement of students’ science process skills by using virtual laboratory media with guided inquiry learning model on Archimedes’ Principle. The method of this study was pre-experimental design with one group pretest-posttest design. The subject in this study were 35 students of VIII J class in SMP Negeri 1 Surabaya. The methods of data collection were by giving a pretest before and posttest after the implementation of the treatment and observation on the implementation of learning using an observation sheet. The data was analyzed using the paired t-test and the N-gain test. The result of paired t-test with (p) (0.00) < 0.05 indicate that there was an effect of treatment on students’ science process skills. As for the N-Gain test result obtained an average value of 0.8 consider as high category and 80% classical completeness. Based on the results obtained, it can be conclude that virtual laboratory media with guided inquiry learning model can improve students’ science process skills in Archimedes’ Principle.
