Misalkan  sebuah graf. Pewarnaan-k sejati (“proper”) pada  adalah pewarnaan semua titik  dengan k warna sedemikian hingga setiap dua titik  yang berhubungan langsung mendapat warna berbeda. Minimum nilai k sedemikian hingga ada pewarnaan-k sejati pada  disebut bilangan kromatik . Pewarnaan-b pada  adalah sebuah pewarnaan-k sejati pada  sedemikian hingga setiap kelas warna mempunyai sebuah representatif (wakil) yang berhubungan langsung ke paling sedikit satu titik di setiap kelas warna yang lain. Bilangan bulat positif terbesar k sedemikian hingga ada pewarnaan-b pada  disebut bilangan kromatik-b pada , dilambangkan . Pada artikel ini diperoleh bilangan kromatik-b graf sentral dari graf bintang , bilangan kromatik-b graf tengah dari graf bintang  dan bilangan kromatik-b graf total dari graf bintang .

Let  be a graph. A proper k-coloring of  is coloring all vertices of  with k colors such that every two adjacent vertices are assigned different colors. The minimum value of k for which a proper k-coloring of  exist is called the chromatic number of . A b-coloring of  is a proper k-coloring of  such that each color class has a representative that is adjacent to at least one vertex in each of the other color classes. The largest positive integer k such that there is a b-coloring of  is called the b-chromatic number of , denoted . In this article, we establish the b-chromatic number of the central graph on the star graph , the b-chromatic number of the middle graph on the star graph  and the b-chromatic number of total graph on the star graph .
