Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan keterlaksanaan pembelajaran, keterampilan komunikasi, dan respon siswa dengan diterapkannya strategi think-pair-share dalam pembelajaran diskusi. Jenis penelitian ini Pre-Experimental dengan One-Shot Case Study Design, dengan subyek penelitian 33 siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri 32 Surabaya. Metode pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi partisipan dan angket. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deksriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penerapan strategi think-pair-share dalam pembelajaran diskusi terlaksana dengan baik ditinjau dari perolehan persentase keefektifan yaitu 96,53%. Keterampilan komunikasi lisan dan tertulis siswa mengalami peningkatan. Siswa memberikan respon positif sebesar 90,91% dengan kriteria sangat baik. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah penerapan strategi think-pair-share dalam pembelajaran diskusi dapat melatihkan dan meningkatkan keterampilan komunikasi siswa kelas VIII-A SMP Negeri Surabaya.

    The aim of this research to describe the implementation of learning, communication skills, and student responses with the application think-pair-share strategies in discussion learning. This research is a Pre-Experimental with a One-Shot Case Study Design, with 33 research subjects as 8-A grade students of SMP Negeri 32 Surabaya. The data collection method using participant observation and questionnaire. Data analysis techniques using descriptive statistic. The results showed that the implementation of think-pair-share strategies in the learning discussion was carried out well in terms of the percentage of effectiveness which was 96,53%. Students’ oral and written communication skills have improved. Students gave a possitive response of 90,91% with very good criteria. The conclusion of this study is the application of think-pair-share strategies in learning discussion can train and improve communication skills of 8-A grade students of SMP Negeri 32 Surabaya.
