Implementation of Ethno-STEM Ceramic Crafts on Science Learning Outcomes of Students with Autistic Spectrum Disorders
Pembelajaran IPA memiliki banyak manfaat termasuk bagi siswa dengan gangguan spektrum autis. Pada jenjang SMALB pembelajaran IPA memberikan pengalaman sains dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Pembelajaran ini disesuaikan karakeristik siswa dengan gangguan spektrum autis yang beragam, salah satunya kecerdasan rata-rata hingga di atas rata-rata. Ethno-STEM menjadi pendekatan yang mengakomodasi karakteristik intelektual tingkat tinggi. Implementasi Ethno-STEM mengintegrasikan pembuatan kriya keramik teknik cetak tuang dan ornamen kopi Dampit Malang. Tujuan umum penelitian yaitu menganalisis implementasi Ethno-STEM kriya keramik dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPA siswa dengan gangguan spektrum autis. Lalu dikembangkan menjadi beberapa tujuan khusus diantaranya hasil asesmen formatif IPA, hasil proses pembelajaran IPA, dan hasil proses pengerjaan soal IPA. Pendekatan penelitiannya yakni kuantitatif dengan metode Single Subject Research (SSR) desain A-B. Hasil analisa data menunjukkan implementasi Ethno-STEM kriya keramik dapat meningkatkan hasil asesmen formatif IPA dengan skor PEM-T sebesar 100% kriteria “very effective”. Implementasi Ethno-STEM kriya dapat meningkatkan hasil proses pembelajaran IPA dengan skor PEM-T sebesar 100% kriteria “very effective”. Lalu implementasi Ethno-STEM kriya keramik dapat meningkatkan hasil proses pengerjaan soal IPA dengan skor PEM-T sebesar 100% kriteria “very effective”.

Science learning has many benefits, including for students with autism spectrum disorder. At the SMALB grade, science learning provides science in daily life. This learning is adapted to the characteristics of students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD), one of them is average to above intelligence. Ethno-STEM is an approach that accommodates high-level intellectual characteristic. Ethno-STEM is integrating the process of making ceramic crafts using the casting technique and the Dampit coffee from Malang ornaments. The general aim of the research is to analyze the implementation of Ethno-STEM ceramic crafts in improving science learning outcomes for students with autism spectrum disorders (ASD). It’s developed into several specific objectives including the results of the science formative assessment, the results of science learning process, and the results of working science questions process. The research approach is quantitative research with Single Subject Research (SSR) and A-B design. The results of the data analysis show that the implementation of ceramic craft Ethno-STEM can improve the results of science formative assessments with a PEM-T score of 100% for “very effective” criteria. The implementation of craft Ethno-STEM can improve the results of science learning process with a PEM-T score of 100% for “very effective” criteria. Then the implementation of Ethno-STEM ceramic craft can improve the results of working science questions process with a PEM-T score of 100% for “very effective” criteria.
