PIPE CLEANER SEBAGAI MEDIA KARYA SENI RUPA TIGA DIMENSI KELAS X SMA KHADIJAH SURABAYA
PIPE CLEANER AS A MEDIUM FOR THREE DIMENSIONAL WORKS OF ART FOR CLASS X KHADIJAH HIGH SCHOOL SURABAYA
Dalam bidang kesenian terdapat tren pemanfaatan pipe cleaner yang sedang ramai di sosial media. Pada kalangan remaja, tidak semua remaja secara otomatis tertarik dalam tren seni yang sedang berkembang, meskipun teknologi telah memberikan inspirasi melalui platform digital. Oleh karena itu, perlunya memfasilitasi eksplorasi kreativitas remaja melalui pembelajaran seni rupa di sekolah dengan mengkolaborasikan antara teknologi dan seni untuk pemanfaatan pipe cleaner sebagai media pembelajaran.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan mendeskripsikan proses, hasil karya, dan tanggapan peserta didik dan guru seni budaya pada kegiatan pembelajaran seni budaya dengan memanfaatkan pipe cleaner sebagai media karya tiga dimensi pada peserta didik kelas X SMA Khadijah Surabaya.
Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan sifat deskriptif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara guru seni budaya, angket responden peserta didik terhadap kegiatan serta hasil pembelajaran seni rupa tiga dimensi dengan media pipe cleaner, dan dokumentasi kegiatan penelitian. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan melalui reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan atau verifikasi. Validasi menggunakan teknik triangulasi data.
Proses pembelajaran dilaksanakan dalam tiga pertemuan yakni (1) penyampaian materi mengenai pipe cleaner sebagai media seni rupa tiga dimensi oleh peneliti dan pembahasan karya yang akan dibuat, pembagian kelompok, demonstrasi teknik merangkai bunga dari pipe cleaner, (2) membuat bunga dari pipe cleaner dengan jumlah 4 bunga utuh, (3) merangkai karya dari pipe cleaner yang telah dibuat dengan konsep seni ikebana dan tahap finishing sebelum dikumpulkan.
Hasil pembelajaran pada 26 peserta didik kelas X peminatan seni rupa yang dibagi menjadi 6 kelompok dan menghasilkan 6 karya penataan yang berbeda-beda hingga perolehan penilaian hasil karya sudah cukup baik, meskipun terdapat beberapa kesulitan yang dialami peserta didik seperti memotong pipe cleaner, membentuk pipe cleaner, dan penggunaan lem tembak. Terdapat empat kelompok yang memperoleh penilaian kriteria baik dengan nilai 83, 85, 87 dan 88. Sedangkan 2 kelompok lainnya memperoleh penilaian kriteria sangat baik dengan nilai 92 dan 93.
Respon dari peserta didik dan guru dapat dianalisis melalui hasil angket respon peserta didik dan wawancara guru. Hasil angket respon peserta didik setelah pembelajaran seni rupa tiga dimensi dengan media pipe cleaner, data yang diperoleh pada kriteria setuju secara keseluruhan sebanyak 80% mendapat tanggapan positif dan kelayakan dari peserta didik. Sedangkan hasil wawancara guru memperoleh tanggapan bahwa beliau tertarik dan mengapresiasi terhadap media baru yang sedang tren di media sosial serta menganggap media pipe cleaner layak untuk diterapkan pada pembelajaran. Dari respon peserta didik dan guru seni budaya SMA Khadijah Surabaya dapat disimpulkan bahwa hasil karya peserta didik sudah dapat dikatakan berhasil dan layak untuk diterapkan dalam pembelajaran.

In the field of art, there is a trend of utilizing pipe cleaners that is currently busy on social media. Among teenagers, not all teenagers are automatically interested in emerging art trends, even though technology has provided inspiration through digital platforms. Therefore, it is necessary to facilitate the exploration of adolescent creativity through art learning in schools by collaborating between technology and art for the utilization of pipe cleaners as learning media.
This study aims to determine and describe the process, the results of the work, and the responses of students and cultural arts teachers on cultural arts learning activities by utilizing pipe cleaners as a medium for three-dimensional works on class X students of Khadijah Surabaya High School.
This research uses a qualitative approach with descriptive nature. Data collection techniques through observation, cultural arts teacher interviews, questionnaires of student respondents to activities and learning outcomes of three-dimensional art with pipe cleaner media, and documentation of research activities. The data analysis technique used is through data reduction, data presentation and conclusion or verification. Validation using data triangulation techniques.
The learning process was carried out in three meetings, namely (1) delivery of material about pipe cleaners as three-dimensional art media by researchers and discussion of the works to be made, group division, demonstration of flower arrangement techniques from pipe cleaners, (2) making flowers from pipe cleaners with a total of 4 whole flowers, (3) assembling works from pipe cleaners that have been made with the concept of ikebana art and the finishing stage before being collected.
The learning results of 26 students in class X specialization in fine arts who were divided into 6 groups and produced 6 different arrangement works until the acquisition of the assessment of the work was quite good, although there were some difficulties experienced by students such as cutting pipe cleaners, forming pipe cleaners, and using hot glue. There were four groups that received good criteria with scores of 83, 85, 87 and 88. While the other 2 groups received excellent criteria with scores of 92 and 93.
Responses from students and teachers can be analyzed through the results of student response questionnaires and teacher interviews. The results of the students' response questionnaire after learning three-dimensional art with pipe cleaner media, the data obtained in the overall agreed criteria as much as 80% received positive responses and feasibility from students. While the results of the teacher interview obtained a response that he was interested and appreciated the new media that was trending on social media and considered pipe cleaner media worthy of being applied to learning. From the responses of students and cultural arts teachers of SMA Khadijah Surabaya, it can be concluded that the students' work can be said to be successful and feasible to be applied in learning.
