TEMPERAMENE PARAGA UTAMA SAJRONE NOVEL RINGIN GARING ANGGITANE TULUS SETIYADI (Tintingan Psikologi Kapribaden Ludwig Klages)
Every character in a literary work is invariably confronted with various challenges. Subsequently, each character responds with actions aimed at addressing these conflicts. Human responses differ based on individual personalities. It is through these responses that we can discern the temperament of each person. The purpose of this research is to explore the temperament of a main character, the psychological issues arising from their temperament, and the consequences of their temperament manifested through their actions. This study is grounded in Ludwig Klages' personality theory and focuses on the temperament of the main character in the novel Ringin Garing. Ludwig Klages categorizes temperament into four types: sanguine, phlegmatic, choleric, and melancholic. According to Klages, individuals may exhibit combinations of two or more of these temperaments. This research adopts a qualitative descriptive approach, utilizing the novel Ringin Garing by Tulus Setiyadi (2017) as its primary data source. Data includes dialogues and narrations pertaining to the character's temperament, the psychological issues stemming from it, and the consequences of the character's temperament in the novel. Data collection methods include reading, note-taking, and literature study techniques. Data analysis involves reducing, presenting, and drawing conclusions from the data. The research yields three formulations: (1) the main character's temperament in Ringin Garing is characterized as choleric and phlegmatic, (2) psychological issues arising from the main character's temperament include manipulative behavior, stress, and narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) and (3) consequences of the main character's temperament include hallucinations and schizotypal traits. The conclusion of this research found that the dominant part of the choleric temperament lies in the ambitious aspect that can lead to manipulative mental issues, resulting in the protagonist experiencing hallucinations and suffering from schizotypal disorder.
