THE IMPACT OF FLEXIBLE WORKING ARRANGEMENTS ON JOB PERFORMANCE THROUGH WORK-LIFE BALANCE OF STUDENTS WORKING ON SOCIAL MEDIA IN SURABAYA
Dampak setelah terjadinya pandemi yang dikarenakan Covid-19 memunculkan perubahan di berbagai aspek kehidupan, tak terkecuali ekonomi dan pendidikan. Kebutuhan hidup yang semakin meningkat menjadikan mahasiswa mencari cara untuk mampu memenuhi kebutuhan tersebut. Sebagian mahasiswa memilih jalan keluar dengan cara bekerja. Fenomena mahasiswa yang menjalankan peran ganda yakni kuliah sambil bekerja banyak dijumpai pada kalangan mahasiswa di Surabaya. Di era modern seperti saat ini, banyak jenis pekerjaan yang bergelut di bidang media sosial. Mahasiswa cenderung memilih pekerjaan di bidang media sosial dikarenakan waktu yang lebih fleksibel dan mampu dikuasai dengan baik.
Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menguji dan menganalisis pengaruh flexible working arrangement terhadap job performance melalui work life balance. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kausalitas dengan pendekatan kuantitatif. Penentuan sampel menggunakan nonprobability sampling dengan teknik purposive sampling. Jumlah sampel dalam penelitian ini yakni 110 responden yakni mahasiswa di Surabaya yang bekerja di bidang media sosial. Analisis statistik yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah partial least square (PLS) dengan bantuan software SmartPLS 3.2.9.
Hasil dari penelitian ini menjelaskan bahwa flexible working arrangement yang di terapkan oleh perusahaan berpengaruh positif dan signifikan terhadap job performance karyawan. Work life balance juga memiliki pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan terhadap job performance. Namun, work life balance tidak mampu memediasi hubungan antara flexible working arrangement dengan job performance.
The impact of the pandemic caused by Covid-19 has led to changes in various aspects of life, including the economy and education. The increasing needs of life make students look for ways to be able to meet these needs. Some students choose a way out by working. The phenomenon of students carrying out dual roles, namely studying while working, is often found among students in Surabaya. In today's modern era, various works are involved in the field of social media. Students tend to choose jobs in the field of social media because the time is flexible and can be mastered properly.
The purpose of this study is to examine and analyze the effect of flexible working arrangements on job performance through work-life balance. This research is a causality study with a quantitative approach. Determination of the sample using nonprobability sampling with purposive sampling technique. The number of samples in this study was 110 respondents, that is students in Surabaya who work in the field of social media. The statistical analysis used in this study is the partial least squares (PLS) with the help of SmartPLS 3.2.9 software.
The results of this study explain that the flexible working arrangement implemented by the company has a positive and significant effect on employee job performance. A work-life balance also has a positive and significant impact on job performance. However, a work-life balance is unable to mediate the relationship between flexible working arrangements and job performance.
