APPLICATION OF MEDIA TIMELINE TO IMPROVE SOCIAL
STUDIES LEARNING OUTCOMES OF 2th THEME “PERISTIWA DALAM KEHIDUPAN”
AT 5th GRADE STUDENT’S CENGKOK TAROKAN KEDIRI ELEMENTARY SCHOOL

This study aim to (1) describe teacher activities in
applying the Timeline media to improve social studies learning outcomes of 2th
theme “Peristiwa dalam Kehidupan” at 5th grade student’s Cengkok
Tarokan Kediri Elementary School, (2) describe student activities in applying
the Timeline media to improve social studies learning outcomes of 2th
theme “Peristiwa dalam Kehidupan” at 5th grade student’s Cengkok
Tarokan Kediri Elementary School, (3) describe improvement in studies learning
outcomes of 2th theme “Peristiwa dalam Kehidupan” at 5th
grade student’s Cengkok Tarokan Kediri Elementary School.
This study used a class action research design
(CAR), which was carried out in two cycles. Each cycle consists of 3 stages,
namely (1) planning, (2) implementation and observation, (3) reflection. Data
collection techniques used are by observation dan test techniques. The subjects
of this study were fiveth grade teachers
of Cengkok Tarokan Kediri Elementary School and 16 fiveth grade students
Cengkok Tarokan Kediri Elementary School. The data analysis
technique used is to calculate the number of frequencies that often occur
during the learning process in accordance with the type of activity divided by
the total number of activities multiplied by 100% and cognitive learning
outcomes obtained from written tests.
The results of the analysis obtained are as follows:
(1) teacher activities in the first cycle reached an achievement score of 75%,
the second cycle achievement score of 93,75%,(2) the activities of sudents in
the first cycle reached an achievement score of 71,25%, the second cycle
achievement score of 92%,(3) student learning outcomes before this research are
46%, after application of Timeline media in the first cycle student learning
outcomes reached an achivement score of 68,75%, the second cycle achieved an
achievement score of 93,75%. From the result of the above research, it can be
concluded that the application of Timeline media can improve student’s social
studies learning outcomes of 2th theme “Peristiwa dalam Kehidupan”
in grade V of Cengkok tarokan Kediri Elementary School.
